He hasn't really stood out, but he's been the most consistent forward we have.

Would you all trade Morrow for Ryan Whitney? Whitney would be tied with Goligsoki for first in points from your D...

Fourteen times out of two I would make that trade.

I wouldn't. I'd rather trade Morrow for futures rather than someone who is going to be UFA.

Yes, yes, yes. I think I'd take a 3rd and not be too upset.

Morrow has a NMC, as reported by Heika.

Deal likely has 0 chance of happening. Edmonton's looked good, and they have an exciting future, but he's not going to a start up. He'll look for a top contender.

The Dallas Stars have assigned Antoine Roussel to the Texas Stars of the AHL.
Seems like a slap on the wrist for last night's game. Based on his twitter conversations, Mark seems to agree.

Mark mentioned, and I think it makes sense, that Garbutt will likely join the 4th line.

I have a feeling a similar move as the Krys Barch trade is in Tom Wandell's future. IIRC, didn't Barch ask to be moved and Dallas obliged? We've already seen how important center depth is this year, but I think he's worked his way out of the picture here which sucks.

I'm hoping he does get moved and finds some success. Hopefully in the Eastern conference.

I think Roussel's play last game earned him a healthy scratch but I think this 4 or 5 day break is what got him sent back to Austin. If the Stars had 2 or 3 games over the next 5 days I think they would have kept him with the team. With this long break there's no reason not to send him back to Austin and get some games in.

True could be said of several AHL eligible players in Dallas. The fact that none of them are on the way to Canada for the road trip Texas is on is probably telling.

Yep Barch asked. Maybe we'll get a 3rd for Wandell. Stock 'em up!

It's kinda wild after the having a 4 game losing streak, with other teams catching up to 12 games played Dallas is only 2 points out of 5th in the West. Because of games in hand though, assuming those teams actually won those games, Dallas is only 2 points out of 14th.

Since obviously win % is a better indicator at this point, they are tied for 8th in the West and tied for 17th overall.

With EDM and CGY right on the heels of Dallas, this could be a big weak to create some distance. The Flames have been dreadful at home (1-3-1) so there's even some hope they can get a win the 2nd night of a B2B.

If Gulutzan proves to be a reasonable man this week, Richard Bachman will get a game. Kari Lehtonen playing the Vancouver Canucks the 3rd game in 4 nights doesn't seem like a recipe for success. They need him fresh for such a tough opponent, and Bachman showed last game against PHX that he deserves consideration in these B2B's. If it wasn't for the pathetic display of the team in front of him that game, he put them in a position to win or at least possibly get points had anyone else shown up to play.

This is getting stupid. I'm either losing my mind .... or this damn thing keeps jumping my posts to different threads. This is the 3rd or 4th time this happened, and I know for I fact I wasn't reading this thread when I typed this.

I had just finished reading Tango talk about Larsen in the damn Valley of the Stars thread.

I don't care about the punishment, but why would you not afford Reilly Smith the same opportunity to get some Top 6 minutes?

This looked like a punishment based on Roussel's last NHL game, but it obviously wasn't. This was a perfect time for Reilly Smith to get in a couple games playing top line minutes at ES, on the PP, and on the PK. What a waste ..... Even Oleksiak could have benefited from playing more minutes in every situation.

....and not to keep *****ing too much ... but Roussel honestly didn't learn anything. In both games this weekend he took late penalties in the offensive zone.

He had turned his game around from November on, but he's taking dumb penalties again. IIRC, Hamilton scored the game winning goal as his penalty expired on Saturday.

It should be interesting to see how soon he's back in the line up. Does he even get scratched for a game? Guess Dallas really wants him along for the road trip.

IDK ... but you were right that it wasn't a punishment. If anything it benefits him to get some games in. I was just not thrilled to see the lazy penalties this weekend late in the game.

It's the exact thing he pulled against Anaheim.
