What are your organizational needs? Is it possible that you trade this pick for help in postseason?
Keep in mind Boudreau's familiarity with most of the Caps players.
I remember Ducks fans talking about a need for a center. If we're out of contention and Ribeiro wants to move on, he'll be available for this pick and some highly-touted prospect.

Id say thats about right value for Ribero maybe more. Ribero is so underrated in general, he is a huge pickup for any team going to the playoffs. He is the only reason the Caps have a pulse this season.

With Ryan playing very well at center, the Ducks actually need a top line LW more. Plus they lost our own 2nd this year for Cogliano.

Wasn't he moved to the wing during the last game?

Dallas received Eakin for Ribeiro so do not expect much more value than a 3rd + roster player. People will say Dallas was fleeced but Eakin is awesome night in and night out for Dallas.

No. He was in 3rd period but that's standard for Bruce if team is holding lead or he simply wants a more defensive lineup. He moves Koivu and Bonino up a line late in games which moves Ryan to wing. That will continue to happen until Ryan gets more use to the position.

At the time of the trade there was lockout looming and it hurt Ribs' value. In a deadline bidding war I can easily see him getting early 2nd+A prospect or late 1st+B prospect.

You don't think Dallas was trying to move him prior to last years deadline? IIRC the asking price Joe was throwing out was a 1st and nobody bit.
