Ryder's hernia??

Just wondering ,I haven't heard much on this. Where and when was it revealed that he was playing all season with one?

Also, will he be back to 100% by training camp?

But someone on the boards mentioned it in December-ish.

I thought it his back -- herniated disc -- not an abdominal hernia.

Upper herniated vertebra or something? Made his whole side including an arm numb from about december on and started clearing up in march. I think it was his agent that released it to the press after the playoffs.

His agent releases the news? I find that kinda comical, in a contract year going to arbitration.

Here, found the original report from La Presse (May 4, 2006):

In French though... too late to translate right now.

I think they said he could have healed up had he taken some time off and done the physio, but the team was fighting for a playoff spot so he stayed on.
