He's still considered a world leader.

And be careful with where this topic goes...

At university and...

The kid across from me is eating... The food has a stench a bad one. Like .. It's horrendous. I'm actually burying my nose in my sweater and jersey because I'm about to be sick.

There are a lot of Catholics, and some of them still care what the Pope says. I don't get it either, but that's the way it is.

sorry, yeah i didnt want that to come off as anti religion...but even for catholics- what exactly does having a pope do? i honestly don't know, so it could just be my ignorance. i was a 'catholic' as a kid, and never knew what he did or why he was important.

I refuse to buy from breeders but I am paying the woman anyway for saving him in the first place. She rescued the mother while she was pregnant and they all came out very healthy except for one who has a Jason Voorhees eye going on.

He's the figurehead of the whole thing... Similar to the President or the Queen of England. They don't hold all the power, just some, and are a 'leader' figure.

sounds good man. I only made the comment since the gf works very closely with batches of kittens (you could fit 2 in the palm of your hand) that are constantly getting released into the cold or put down. its an overpopulation problem that really needs to be looked at, but im not sure by who

we rescued our little buddy, who has literally changed my life (for the better). plus, he a devils fan, so..who could ask for more?

so...nothing important then

if they bring in a pope who is 40, socially liberal (meaning connected with todays ever changing world) i would go to church. maybe. but probably not. and, that sort of view flies in the face of Catholicism so it'd never happen anyway.

1.2 billion people call themselves Catholic. And I would imagine half of them view it the same way I do.... I've always seen my Catholicism as part of my cultural heritage.

To me the religion seems somewhat irrelevant... It doesn't really factor in...It just is. To me being Catholic is ceremonial and the Pope is a part of the ceremony. Kind of like why people follow the Royal Family to see what they are wearing I suppose?

I guess growing up in an Italian household in northern New Jersey that it is just so intertwined in the fabric of your community, your school, in your food and holiday's, your customs, your parents and grandparents....It just seems like that is what my people do - reason and philosophies are meaningless....It could be pin the tail on the donkey on the first on the month or it can be the Feast of San Gennaro in September -- it doesn't matter but it all represents family and community to me.

To our country? That's correct.

But he holds a lot of power over the minds and 'spirits' of a lot of other countries. I would think a Southern American Pope would dramatically transform a lot of lives in that part of the world, because he would be a unifying factor for them.

It's an interesting subtext to the political relations of many countries.

Hey everyone, need a last minute gift for that Devils fan in your life?

Or do you just want to bother a Rangers fan?

We take a look at being a Devils fan on Valentine's Day in our Valentine's Day Guide
