For the 8th time in history no one has been voted in. Biggio got the most votes with 68% only 39 votes shy.. So disgusted right now.

Will be spending some time in March down in FLA. Will take the drive north to catch the Mets in Port St. Lucie. If you are a baseball fan and have never gone to spring training I would highly recommend it. Nothing gives you a winter re-charge like an instant summer day at the ballpark.

If you ever do go don't stay in Port Saint Lucie there is nothing there, you might as well vacation in Uniondale in the summer 40 minutes to an hour south on 95 and you can stay in some very nice beach areas with great restaurants. If it's all about baseball stay near Jupiter or Juno beach. 5 minutes from where the Cards and Marlins play, great beaches etc. (Cards fans are truly nice people who welcome opposing fans) and the trip to see the Mets is very easy.

I have heard that Yankee camp is also a great experience with many visiting past Yankee greats.

A little Mets/Islanders connection posted a couple days ago:

Quote:
David Wright says he has open invitation to drop first puck at an #Isles game, and plans to take the NHL club up on the offer at some point.
Quote:
David Wright said he really admirers John Tavares, whom Wright said is a big baseball fan who has attended a few Mets games.

I was really bummed that Wheeler was scratched yesterday. It would have been nice to have some fun watching one of my sports teams for a change.

Great move by the MetsNaming Wright captain...

Im a yankee fan but I dont hate the mets....Can any Mets fans tell me why Harvey is not Starting opening day?

They dont want to ppu that pressure on him?

I watched his start and he was unreal...Throwing strike after strike and had some nasty stuff....He's the real deal

It's time this thread got stickied.

Good for DW. He definitely deserves the honor. even if it's completely meaningless in baseball, he's still clearly the Captain of the Mets.

I also love that Niese is getting the ball opening day. I'm expecting a big year out of him.

Final terms, Angels are paying $29M and Yankees are paying $13M.

I'm sure Yankee stadium will turn Vernon Wells back into a 850 OPS player. But jeez, this is just desperation right here.

After all the guys who kept saying no (Chipper etc) at least they got somebody...

Not that it will make much difference...It must suck to be a season ticket holder.

This summer is going to be brutal. I honestly can't remember the last time I went into the season as a Yankee fan with absolutely zero hope. 1992? I was barely 9 years old then. This is new territory for sure. Spoiled Yankee fan? You bet your ass I am.

On a positive note, the Yankees have been great for the past 20 years and the Isles have been dog **** for the past 20 years. Maybe the tides are turning. Yankees ****... Isles on the rise. I will take that trade!

Not to sound to James Earl Jones but Baseball, like all things in life, is cyclical. Believe it or not there have been times when the Mets owned this town.

The perfect example of the young Yankee fan called Francessa a few weeks back. This call made Francessa, arguably the biggest Yankee fan on the radio, choke. This is what he said;

"The Yankees can start to solve their problems very easily, all they have to do is to develop the next Derek Jeter in their farm system and bring him up in the next two years"

The caller was dead serious.
