Columbus doesn't get anything that makes them significantly better and they are giving up one of their most needed assets for the rebuild, a 1st.

No way they ever make this trade.

Those players aren't worth Columbus' 1st by itself, let alone the Jackets adding.

I think you are undervalueing Lars Eller. The 1st round pick could be lowest 1st round pick of the 3 Columbus owns. So we may talk about something like the 20th to 25th pick. Make the third round pick I included a conditional second round pick if the the 1st rounder is a top-15 pick. Losing Boll and MacKenzie wouldn't matter much for the Blue Jackets. Holland might be a decent third-line player in the near future and Eller could help them right away. While having 3 first rounders is never a bad thing, you never know how they pan out.

Eller is of little interest, Holland doesn't really add anything, Armstrong is a sad joke, we could get a 3rd for DMac/Boll regardless, and we have little or no reason to trade 1sts this year.

Not a good proposal at all.

"Decent third-line player" is precisely what we don't need, and the odds of Eller helping right away are vanishingly small. We need forwards who can shoot the puck and score goals, and last I checked that's not Eller's game.

Right when I read Colby Armstrong I knew you were simply trying to dump your junk for some value.

I say no if I am Columbus

So if we make it Holland and/or Armstrong plus a third rounder for Boll and MacKenzie?

What a horrible proposal, absolutely disgusting, please say you're a MTL fan so I can blame it on homerism, and so I can at least see the reasoning behind such an insulting proposal.

One thing has value the rest doesn't.

Dear Hfboards. Colby Armstrong is terrible and probably won't be in the NHL next season. I'd say Weber has more value than Armstrong.

That is exactly what Eller excels at.

If we add a 1st, maybe. Weber is terrible and he's been a healthy scratch in every game but 1 for a very good reason.

We have uses for Boll and MacKenzie, a marginal maybe use at best for Holland, and no use at all for Armstrong.

Boll actually contributes something to this team by forechecking and by punching people. Weber wouldn't even get that far because he'd be, like, #11 or #12* on our blueline depth chart or something. Makes no sense for the Jackets at all.

*: JMFJ, Tyutin, Nikitin, Wisniewski, Moore, Aucoin, Savard, Erixon, Goloubef, Holden, Prout. And next year Murray will be back from injury...
