Anyway, I think Vatanen is going to get another chance with the Ducks this season. Especially if Norfolk doesn't make the playoffs

amazed at sheriff cutting this thread. still thou sing along theme there at threads name which i put on everybotys lip here right?

clap my hands to vatanen . yes, silly talk bout if vatanen to get another chanche or not. okay this way it goes but sounds silly reading having a chanche. chanche for what? he came he played super he succeeded. according to that one saying hes just an averige skater = answer: total untrue. he play NHLgame and didnt have to skate like for death in the games. he did superior!

so i saw lydman in last game also play really bad. but of course not going to be put to AHL. sucks having the superplayer vatanen having to put time down there. FOR NO REASON. THOUGHT TEAM SUCCESS WOULD BE HERE IN ANAHEIM AT PRIORITY

As a potential injury call up, maybe. But if everybody is healthy as the season progresses (a huge if) I don't see him coming back. This team should be gearing towards the playoffs and short of being an injury replacement, he isn't ready to be thrown in the line up at that time of year.

I got a real problem with Staubitz and Lovejoy playing...I have't read anyone else's sentiments...I want Sami and Rackell or Holland in. Its ridiculous how bad those two are.

No, I have nothing against Vatanen. What I'm against is this sense of entitlement you have regarding Vatanen. What I'm against is giving a spot to Vatanen before he's earned it, and at the expense of better options. If he made the team better, guess what? I'd want him on it.

Boudreau sheltered the crap out of Vatanen, and he did it against teams that should have favored Sami, and all you can really say about Vatanen is that he was decent. He made some good plays, he made some bad ones, but over the course of the game he really didn't make a strong argument that he belongs. If Vatanen can't make a strong statement while he's being coddled by Boudreau, how is he going to do it when he isn't?

But you don't care about any of this, do you? All you care about is Superstar Sami. Anaheim fans care about Anaheim. Sure, we develop love for players, but the goal is to win hockey games, and hopefully win a Championship again at some point. I'm sure, in your mind, Vatanen can help accomplish that. Maybe that will be true in the future, but it sure isn't true now. When he can play well enough to stick, without Boudreau needing to play the 3rd pairing like it's a live hand grenade, I suspect we'll see him in the NHL.

Toni Lydman is from Lahti. Lahti played against JYP (Vatanen's team) in the Finnish Elite League finals last spring. I guess there might be some bad blood there?

One more thing: guys who had already proven themselves at NHL level had no need to give 100 percent while playing in the Finnish league during the lock-out. The most important thing for them was not to get injured.

Vatanen/Lindholm/Fowler/maybe Sbisa plus a couple of solid 3rd pairers. Ducks have a D to go for years.

Nate Guenin is up with the Ducks for the next week, guess they need a more proven vet. than a 21 year old.

I'm not sure how this has to do with Sami since he didn't play in Finland during the lockout. Also I don't believe that the most important thing for NHL players in FEL during the lockout was not to get injured. If you don't want to get injured, don't play hockey. Foreign teams aren't going to pay players just because they are NHLers.

This is literally true: the 7th d-man role is better for someone who's development isn't even arguably harmed by being scratched.
