He hasn't been playing the same game he was last year, imo. He is trying to stickhandle around guys, makes cute passes, and is not taking the body.

He needs to finish checks and go to the net to be successful. He has not been doing any of these. I think him getting tuned up by Teubert in one of the first few games has really stopped him from playing the pest role.

I found Lehtonen here!

Looks like he'll be in Switzerland for the rest of the season.

By the way, what rights do we still have to him?

A Minnesota Wild NHL draft pick Michalek, who joined the team midseason from Harvard College, admitted earlier this season he was part of a widespread academic cheating scandal involving athletes in several sports at the school. Sources said he and others involved in the scandal were informed by the school late this week they must stop playing in order to assure eligibility next season.

Anyone have any more info on Graovac's play with his new team the Belleville Bulls? Seems like he has done well points wise and his team has been very good but would be nice to know how he has played if anyone has watched the games.

Also same for Dumba going back, good points but how has his overall play been?

You never cheated on anything at school?

He should have been suspended for a game or two. Maybe 3-4 if it was some major test. A final? I could see 2-3 weeks. No reason to suspend him for an entire season. Harvard was way too uptight in this situation.

Especially when they don't let the guys play in another league to keep themselves in shape and stay competitive. Right now they are literally preventing them from becoming better players and screwing the team over in both the present and the future.

I would be saying this for any player on any team. Oh well. Nothing I can do. If I were him I'd just say screw Harvard and either stay in the USHL, go to the CHL, or see what other colleges could do to get me playing again.

it wasn't just a test. It wasn't just an exam. It was a TAKE-HOME test. You can't possibly expect people do be honest at home. That ones on Harvard.

If we get caught cheating on a test here in the Science and engineering college it's expulsion.

NOTES
I had all kinds of random players on the AHL list, removed Mara as he's not under Wild control, added Dowell, Palmer, and Bagnall. Nothing to get excited about though.

Also added GA and shutouts for the goalies so I can better figure out how they're doing week to week.

Seems like Europe's on another break?

Lots of +2's on the weekend.

Haula's on pace for 60ish points.

I feel like neither Draeger or Seeler have gotten points in 3 months.

Yes, Europe has been playing hockey in Sweden this weekend.
Gustafsson was supposed to play for Sweden, but was replaced after about 15 min in the game against Russia because of injury (groins).

I'm curious as to how many other Wild fans (in addition to me) are thinking that Erik Haula might very well turn out to be a late round steal for the Wild.

His numbers are comparible to Zucker's NCAA stats, he plays the center position...and most importantly, he's FINNISH!!!!

Haula is a great college player, probably better than Bjugstad actually. The Gopher coaches implored him to shoot a lot more after his freshman season and when he started to put the puck on the net more he really took off. The problem with him is that he doesn't really have any elite attributes other than maybe his vision so I'm just not sure how his game will translate. I'm keeping my expectations very low with him but I think there's a real chance that he could prove me and many others wrong.

I don't understand everyone's infatuation with a player needing "elite" skills to make it into the NHL. A player is more than capable for performing in the NHL with multiple "good" skills.

Zucker I think is definitely a top 5 prospect in the AHL this year. My God. The kid is great.

I think if a kid has great size, a great shot, great speed ect. it makes the transition much easier. It's certainly not necessary but it helps to have something that gives you an edge.

He's had success at every level he's been at and has given us no indication that it won't continue. I'm definitely optimistic.

I realize that it's an intangible...but he does have a reputation as a very intense competitor and an extremely hard worker....can't have too many players like that in the system.

It sounds like he will be turning pro within the next couple of months....who knows...maybe he'll get a game or two of NHL experience this season yet.
