Sean Hill

Would u sign him for a year or 2. He always been a solid hitting dman, he is another former hurricane. He just turned 36, can come cheaply i would think.

He's a good locker room presence, if you ccould get him for 1m a year or thereabouts, I'd take it.

He is more reliable than Markov who is injury prone.

The people on the Panther's forum hate him, he's a solid Dman, his salary wasn't anything outstanding, and besides, Florida was nowhere near hitting the cap.

Every team needs a scapegoat, I guess.

How many of these guys do we need?

We're running out of spots for these guys and it still seems like an awful lot of money for a pretty average defensive group.

Having said that, I always did like Hill.

Oleg Tverdovsky would be a former Hurricane if you traded for him.

Have any 7th round picks to spare?

Sean Hill hasn't ever put together 20 games of solid play since his first stint with Carolina for any other team. He flamed out of St. Louis, was traded back. Had a few really good years, signed with Florida and flamed out there as well. He's one of those players that has a mental block against any team but Carolina. This is one former Hurricane that I want the Hurricanes and any other team alike to stay away from.

We have 7 NHL defenseman as it is, and that's not including Richter, let alone Staal.

Well we could always try for 9 and then convert some to wingers.

I liked Hill...

but thought before this past season he had started a couple year decline. Take a pass - but not just on his merits along, but along the merits that the Rangers do not need another defensive face.

I'm betting the Rangers will defeinetley need another D-man because the rights to Roszival or Rachunek (hopefully the latter) will be traded for an RFA winger..ANd you can't count on Richter and Pock....That being said, don't think Sean Hill is the answer....Pass..

Wouldn't say 'rights,' Larry...

since Rachunek is currently signed. I'd guess Rozsival gets signed. I'd further guess it's for more than one year. It's tough to tell if Rachunek is in the picture, since a one year contract doesn't exude a lot of commitment on either's part.

Picky, picky, picky......you know what I meant, both could be traded at the snap of a finger....Agree if that Roszival gets signed it will be for at least two years..Most probably we're looking at top 6 of Mailk-Roszival, and some mixture of Kaspar, Toots, Ward and Rachunek..Color me concerned...

Believe it or not, there wasn't one......Actually, I liked the signing for depth, assets and competition...Counting on him for the top 6 is another matter
