If they wanted to trade Malkin it would have been before they traded Staal. At this point it's all academic. The Pens aren't going to entertain trading Malkin. They will either re-sign him or they won't.

You're being too nice Burgundy.

Yes, let's trade arguably the best player in the world / biggest talent on the team because he's not Canadian, because he let's his emotions get to him sometimes. Because he's an easier "concern" when neither super-star is playing to their full potential. Great idea. I knew as soon as I saw the thread this morning that was going to come up.

The idea is Full Panda, turned up to 11.5.

Just ****ing stupid. No other way to put it. Not trying to offend anyone, but Jeezus. See the big picture here. Even if he hadn't scored much but we beat NJ twice, this thread would not exist.

i just opened this thread to the last page and apparently its turned into a trade geno thread? That's the stupidest thing ever. Can we close it? Because its not worth discussing. We aren't trading him. It would be stupid to trade him. If you think we should even consider it, you are wrong. Not just a little wrong. Very wrong. And don't tell me its an opinion so it can't be wrong. Some opinions are so bad that they are wrong. People used to think the world was flat. That was a wrong opinion. This is pretty much just as wrong.

The last few pages of this thread are what Rob Rossi's wet dreams are made of.

there's only one person saying trade him, and I don't think anyone's taking him seriously. (Sorry, RipTide, too). Two people.

Seriously... we actually have the ability now to acquire the pieces to put with our two superstars. It's just up to Shero to find those pieces. This deadline is going to be a defining deadline for Shero IMO.

Malkin, TK, Tangradi and Fleury for Kopitar, Quick, Doughty, Williams and Brown. Go Pens

I was thinking more along the lines of:

Crosby and Fleury for:

The Sedin twins, Luongo, Edler and their next 7 1st round picks. Sid won the Gold in Vancouver, ya know...

Crosby needs to be traded because he's too calm / doesn't get people fired up / is a perpetual concussion risk. And because he's out produced Malkin by only 1 or 2 points so far. His best days are behind him. Never been the same since Steckel hit him.

I'd just trade them both for the entire Edmonton Oilers team. Something about younger, blah blah, we love prospects, blah blah.

That's about the extent of it when these ideas come up. Usually it's from another fan base though... that's what's so disappoint... when it comes from one of our fans. Boggles the mind.

That reminds me of that thread on here asking who you'd rather have: Crosby/Malkin or RNH/Hall/Eberle/Yakupov. My favorite is when people voted for the Edmonton quartet because if you add up their point totals, they'd score more than Crosby and Malkin combined.

It's weird however when I pointed out that Cooke and Dupuis scored more than Taylor Hall, they were not in favor of trading Hall for Dupuis and Cooke.

Well it would be a crazy return for Malkin which would probably make us better but the point is moot...it isn't happening. As for the whole Malkin /Crosby thing...I think people always felt safer with Sid. Everyone knew he would be a penguin for life before he signed that contract and now we are assured of that . I think a lot view ( not even intentionally ) Crosby like Lemieux...and Malkin like jagr. Which isn't even Malkins fault. Malkin gets more blame around here because I think it's in the back of people's heads that he could possibly want to leave. Nobody has ever had those same worries with Sid.

When we do lock up Malkin long term, things will change.

there is no team that would trade us something for Malkin that makes us a better team than Malkin does. Too much of the deal would inevitably be futures

Malkin is playing poorly. Their line isn't producing at even strength. They need a winger.

None of this is new. I'm not sure why you all are bipolar when it comes to these things. This is a solid team. We have cap space and the trade deadline isn't for 2 whole months. 90 percent of you when parisewatch was going on figured we would try internal options if we struck out and then make a move before the deadline. That's two months and we are 8-5.

All we need to do is stay in the hunt, home ice really means little and honestly in years past 1,6,7 seeds are the best before us due to the strength of our division. Chill out and let things play their course. I have my doubts too about a few things (mainly HCDB) but some of you are just a little too spastic

As much as everyone would love Perry, all we really need is someone that can consistently score goals. I hated Semin, but he would look pretty good alongside Sid now (w/ Kunitz on Genos line). Could we get a Stewart for Nisky + a 1st? That's what pisses me off about last off season. Apparently it was Parise or nothing for Shero.
Im not entirely sure but, parise and suter did take a couple of days before they signed so not all the blame could be put on shero, it was either someone else or the two superstars. Although instead of signing bottom 6 playrs he could have signed/take a chance on someone like muller or semin

When Malkin starts USING his wingers...he will succeed and the team will succeed.

Malkin won a Conn Smyth with Feds and Talbot...now that he has Neal, he should be able to deal with a 3rd wheel.

When he gets into these funks, he tries to do it all himself...and it doesn't work. Boychuk, Tangradi, Jeffrey, Glass...shouldn't matter.
