One of many reasons why modern day players we have all watched get shafted in the ATD. What's your opinion on Elmer Lachs Hart over Ted Kennedy?

Lach outscored Kennedy 80-54 in 1945, so stacked team or not (and Elmer's team was definitely stacked to the teeth compared to everyone else), I can see why he won it. Edit: God, looking at the names and stats for the top 20 scorers in 1945, what a joke that season was.

The Hart has always been somewhat related to the Art Ross (and for good reason), but 2010 was basically like "we're tired of always voting for Crosby and Ovechkin. Someone else won the Art Ross? Let's give it to him!" I realize that Henrik got credit for maintaining his level of play without a certain injured linemate, but I don't know, Crosby was doing it without great linemates basically all year.

It was, rest assured. It was under the clever guise of "well, look, he carried the team without his [faithful linemate]" well, yes, but Crosby's never had a linemate like that and he still carries the team. Crosby plays with static producer and twice-waived XXXXX XXXXXX and third liner XXXXXX XXXXXX who accepts passes about as well as Braylon Edwards.

It was a Hart-jacking of the second degree. To either Crosby or Ovechkin.

The Sedin's are very good, but a touch over-hyped, IMO. Not as great as of some of their lofty numbers would indicate. What I say isn't quantifiable, it's just a product of watching - a matter of preference I guess. They're terrific, don't get me wrong. But the praise seems to fill up above the rim sometimes I feel...

Basically agree. That said, I think Sedin has done enough to be a solid solid liner in this by now.

I agree with that as well. He's certainly not chopped liver.

Well I guess I'll take the draft dodger, Pittsburgh will select C/RW Bernie Morris

He'll play with Schriner somewhere, gonna need some grit/defensive ability to cover for them so I'll probably have to make use of his positional versatility.

Morris was also one of the guys for whom there was an argument as best offensive player available when Bowie was taken. The remaining high-end second line scorers are going quickly. There is one more, in my opinion, and I sort of hate him, but he could certainly score.

Nice pick. Good to see him approaching the Foyston/Frederickson level where he probably deserves to go. If I wasn't already loaded at center with Malone, Thornton, and Ratelle or if he fit on Thornton's RW, I would have taken him.

Unless he has some intangibles I don't know about, I think Morris is a step down from Foyston and Fredrickson, but only one step.

Screw it, I'll join the homer parade. I think that not only was Crosby's 2010 worth the Hart, but I think it was better than his 2007 season when he actually won the Hart. In fact, I would have given the 2007 Hart to Martin Brodeur, and voted Crosby 3rd.

After very careful deliberations, the Minnesota Fighting Saints will complete their second line with...

Baldy Northcott, LW

I PMed LL, but could someone notify him using his preferred methods?
