Habs @ Lightning

I just read that Tampa has a home PP percentage of over 40%

Guess we should cut down on penalties if we want any chance to win this.

If Giona doesn't play well, that'll be 3 games until the heat is turned on. For DD I think he has 2 left.

What about Cole ? He made some nice comments but does he really get a by-pass because of this? or is the heat already on...

If Therrien's definition of not being implicated is Eller's season opener...Cole should have been benched by now. I realize that:

a) Therrien has been trying to force that line to click again, cuz why wouldn't it? (Still might)
b) His accountability thing is bs.

The first goal of last game. That's Cole. You don't get benched for THAT? Anyway, not saying he should be since I think it's more of his incompetence/slow start characteristic rather than a lack of interest. Just that there are more people that should have the heat on before Gio. DD is definitely one of them IMO. It's not like I've seen Max being dominant either. He's taken maybe 1 or 2 decent shots, most crappy and from the outside.

All 3 need to get it together and fast cuz we need them.

I have a feeling Chucky's gonna have a great game.

2 teams that started off red hot but currently mired in losing streaks.

TB is really good at home, but has lost 4 straight overall.

I have no idea what to expect out of this game. Nothing would surprise me.

Yeah it's a tough one to predict :S + St-Louis and Lecavalier always have a good game against us but Montreal needs to rebound. Should be a hard disputed match.

I find that DD is failing Cole more than Cole is failing DD. Last year they had success because THE SYSTEM(Tm) was pretty much perfect for their line and DD's skills. This year Therrien asks DD to actually play centre and the line goes to crap. They never could cycle but now they're even worse.

I hate on him because no one else seems to want to mention anything about his bad play. He's been AWFUL and he's been hurting our only decent line. He and DD are the prime culprits and it doesn't have to do with their size, it's their skill and performance.

So, do we sucker punch a Lightning player, or does a Lightning player sucker punch one of our players ?

Desharnais will bite Lecavalier's leg.

Why does this tanking mentality begin to remind me of a bad case of anorexia nervosa? Keep purging and shedding short guys... we can never be young enough...

Has nothing to do with being young. It's a matter of talent. We have little, we want more. Staying in the middle of the pack gets us nowhere. Sure you can potentially draft a great player at #15, but it's harder.

He'll draw the powerplays because he can't skate and falls on his own so it looks like he was tripped.

I was kidding. Mostly. I agree with you in principle that we need to max out our draft picks, but I disagree that we presently lack talent. The rebuild is almost done. Let's allow the crop to grow and see how they do. Sure, we need another big piece, but losing in order to secure a better pick is not the way to go. All we accomplish is teaching our young roster how to lose.

I personally think the rebuild has just begun. I don't see the following players with the Canadiens within 2-3 years: Markov, Gionta, Cole, Kaberle, Bourque. I think MB will slowly morph the team into what he envisions. He wants to build another Chicago. A team with a frenetic pace that has skill and size. He doesn't presently have the horses to do that.

I haven't panicked yet this season. Not after the Toronto thumping, not after losing close games to Buffalo and Boston. I Didn't drop the guillotine on Ryan whites neck after he lost two games for us with two senseless double minors. And I won't think about the fact that this would be an easy season to throw in the towel for a another high draft pick (that has yet to do much for Edmonton after several high draft picks IMO).

Montreal and Tampa

Habs will win this game.

Key Players for this game.

Cole is historically a slow starter, also I believe a sincere heart player. He will come out to play in this game, count on atleast one point.

Max Pacioretty with the gals. Hmm I am like most pretty giddy about this. I think this is a good line, although in my mind the better use of Pacioretty would be beside Eller and Cole. ( I am one, along with many, who don't have faith in Eller and would rather see him traded, but to be honest.. I have liked what i've seen from him the past two games... as a play maker.. not a natural goal scorer) In the end I believe this line of the two gals and patches will be a threat. But no goals.

Desharnais. Davey Desharnais. I don't have much good to say here. Passing the puck to him against the boards is the same as just giving it away to the opponent. I don't know if i have seen him win a single battle against the boards this season... You can't pass it to him low in the zone, he get's crushed.. which in my opinion makes him a terrible fit for Cole and Patches. Love you DD but Give me something or we're breaking up.

Prust.. You can't say anything bad.. The only thing I hope is we don't squander him.. switching his line mates every game, not letting him get comfortable. In my mind too much playing with the lines is bad. I liked Prust with White and Armstrong.

P.K. I know I've been a P.K. hater in the past. I got blasted on these forum boards expressing my feelings about how the triple low five is not somthing that should be continued. Well not to be a dick buttt.... I guess I wasn't the only one who thought that. All that aside, P.K. is this: A Weapon. Do I think he's hurt Markov's game on the P.P.? Yes. Would I rather have P.K. than an aging Markov long term? Yes. Look for P.K. to get another goal.

Bourque I won't mention Pleky, because Pleky is alway's consistent (my one problem with pleks is the amount of breakaways he gets:high. the amount of breakaway's he scores:low)
However Bourque is the bread and butter of this line. Bourque will have a good game, in my opinion he get's the most chances out of any Hab, they will continue to come. Do I not like Gionta on this line? I don't. Do I think Gionta has a place on this team? Yes. Where? I don't ****ing know. But I still like him.

Good luck Hab's tommorow is your's to take.
