To be honest i think firing Burke has been the key to the teams improved play this season . The loud mouth arrogant retard was a distraction and without him the players have been allowed to concentrate on the game without the blowhards constant yapping .
Yet you can never resist reading about or commenting on him.
Ill be very very very happy if dumb Brian Burke threads stop popping up here....until they stop and I will never be responsible for starting one ....I will comment. The man is a fraud.

Parise - Kesler - Kessel
Ryan - Pavelski - Kane
Oshie - Stepan - Pominville
Brown - Backes - Callahan
Who do you really see JVR knocking out of that line-up?? And there's a slew of others I've left out.
I think Stastny still makes the team over Stepan, we need more playmakers and even though Stastny hasn't been the same he still has the ability and played great in the last WC for USA.
JVR's best chance to make the team would be over Oshie or Pominville, since the players on your top two lines are locks and the Brown - Backes - Callahan line is going to be together for sure as the checking line. I'm a Sabres fan so I obviously think Pominville should be in Sochi 100% 30 goal scorer with a great defensive game and is always in the tops amongst US point getters, but if JVR continues to impress he could make it over Oshie, though I wouldn't put money on it.

And to top things off..we are 13 games into the season...all ready we are thanking Brian Burke for the juggernaut that he assembled. Please. As I recall..the Leafs had a better record comig outta the gate last year.

You're right RC does deserve alot of the credit . Rotten Ronnie hung our goalies out to dry with his run and gun system .
I'll at least give Wilson credit for disappearing after he was fired unlike Burke who for some reason is still trying to cling to this team .

JFJ might have drafted them but Burke sifted through the good and bad and SIGNED all of them! Had JFJ drafted and signed them then YES he would deserve more credit.
Are you kidding man? JFJ traded Tuuka Rask for Andrew Raycroft... Do you know how bad of a trade that was? He made some decent draft choices that are just starting to come through but damn he was an awful, awful GM. The top line when he left after 3 years was Blake-Stajan-Ponikoroski, no prospects, no talent, no depth. Burke had nothing but a steaming pile of crap to start with.
THIS! I mean holy ****, JFJ wasn't a great GM and made ****** trades, but let's give him some credit here. Some of the key players that we have who are stepping up right now are JFJ's players.
And for the Eakins lovers, it was JFJ who brought him in initially. The guy who has helped these players develop..

No offense but I HATE that argument. Nucks fans use it when they try to defend Gillis. No way, that Nucks team is built mostly by Burke/Nonis and this Leafs team is a mix of JFJ/Fletch/Burke.
But the players who are producing like Frattin and Reimer are Fergie picks.
