Must have been the most painful three hours of his life. During the second game, I noted and quickly grew tired of Mr. Hughson calling the Sedins "Henrik" and "Daniel" during the play... as if they were his heroes and should be everyone else's too. I found this to be very unprofessional for a National broadcaster (though perhaps perfectly fine for someone working on the Canucks local broadcasts... which is where Hughson and his partner belong) and eventually just turned it off.
I can understand the "Henrik" and "Daniel" thing so he can differentiate them but I've also heard Hughson getting carried away and calling Burrows "Alexandre" during play which is bush.

Last night Cole and Hrudey were urging to Habs to do something, but maybe it was more restrained, and just wanted a competitive game. Cole tried to jinx Reimer on his shutout, with 6 mins left in the 2nd.

My main irritant of the week, happened on Sportsnet. Shannon was
on with the anchor-people, discussing the Caps, and getting around
to their goaltending. The guy said, their goaltending is worse, than
the Leafs. WTF?!!!

Shannon said it was due to the system, which Carlyle is more intense with, than Oates is with his.

I would also add that 21 other teams have worse goaltending than the Leafs.

I suppose so... but I'm guessing that whomever called the Black Hawks games in the 60' and 70's probably referred to "Bobby Hull" and "Dennis Hull" rather than just calling them Bobby and Dennis while the play was going on.

Now that you mention it... Shannon is another mindless Leaf-slagging dick.

It really bugs me that a National broadcaster like the CBC keeps inflicting a crew on us that treats the Canucks as though they were some kind of dynasty (even though they've accomplished precisely nothing) while also insulting the team supported by the vast majority of their viewers at every opportunity. It's not right... and I too long for the rights to be transferred to a more responsible network... one without an agenda.

I was just watching the intermission crew on NBC talking about the alleged "biting" incident last night. The host was obviously hoping to make a big deal out of it... but the two ex-players on the panel (Milbury and Jones) both said that Pacioretty had no business putting his forearm around Grabovski's face and fully deserved whatever happened to him.

It's probably already been said in this thread, but Hughson was probably stuck in BC because of the storm (and got to cover the Canucks).

Also, I think Howard Berger interviewing Healy was more likely the reason why he tried to be unbiased in his commentary against the Habs. I guess it was tough for him to take any Leaf jabs anyway because it was almost a flawless played game.

I'm convinced they spend at least 50% of the game talking about line match ups ups.

They really do seem uninterested in the game sometimes... like they would rather talk about anything else.

And Healy was missing as the usual 3rd commentator. We did great work here.

Hughson/Simpson seemed uninterested all night because the Leafs were winning the game from early on. It's more fun for them when we're losing it seems..

Didn't like the jabs Simpson gave to our ACC crowd when they were displeased about some of the penalty calls. Vancouver fans do the same thing every year and he keeps his mouth shut, we do it during the game and he brings it up (twice). Can't win with them sometimes. If we're quiet it's a bad thing, show our displeasure and it's a bad thing.

He is a brilliant man who got passed over for Brian Burke, that is all.

At 0-1 the Sens were far superior because they had a far superior coach, the inferior team was likely to collapse.

If they bother you that much, change the channel, put the mute on, or turn the TV off.

Is it just me or does anyone else just not pay any attention to anything these play-by-play guys say?

There were a number of times where a big hit was thrown and the crowd got into it, and these two bozos were silent.

Not that that's entirely bad, but like others have said, when the Leafs are winning, they pout.

When the Leafs are losing, they gloat about it.

Looking forward to real announcers this week watching crappy streams.

Im actually kind of enjoying the PbP of some of the american teams that we play that pop up on the stream sites.

The Carolina guy with his "Ward says no" save call is a bit annoying, but other than that Im ok with a lot of them.

Brickley on NESN gets on my nerves.

Very unprofessional.

And it shows. With Lupul,Frattin,Gardiner and Reimer out To. gets a shut out.But if Montreal is one whole massive pt. ahead of To.,"Montreal just finds a way to win!" Unless they play Toronto and then they cry like little girls.Healy is still crying about not getting the To. job.Keep it up Healy cause you never will.Toronto 6 Montreal zero! Now go cry to mommy.
