Seriously. We do not want Yannick Weber. Possibly nobody in the league wants Yannick Weber.

We don't want Bishop. He does not represent value to this team. As such, while Stone is of interest and Puempel would not be looked down upon, this is not the sort of deal we'd go for.

Brassard gives the Blues the center we're looking for. He'd allow Steen to shift back out to LW where he has proven to be better.

D'Agostini would fit in nicely with the squad Columbus is building. He'd be your best finisher right off the bat and is still young.
Best finisher? The guy's cracked 20 goals all of once.

He wouldn't be unwelcome per se and is technically a fit, but we can theoretically do better - and considering that this involves improving a division rival, that makes it a "no thanks".

Maybe if we get a 1st instead of a 3rd as sheer audacious bribery...

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!

Can we borrow Brassard for 6-8 weeks until Spezza's back? He can be returned to you in excellent condition. Thanks!

What? How is this not the sort of deal that is exactly what Columbus is looking for? Potential top 6 wingers with tons of hands and goal scoring ability on top of a young goalie with a ton of potential that has shown the ability to perform at the professional level who has all the attributes of being a good if not great #1 if he develops properly.

This trade + the current draft would set Columbus for YEARS as long as nothing catastrophic happens.

Bobrovsky has played quite well for Columbus. They also have a few decent goalie prospects.

Because we're overpaying for the assets that we actually care about. We don't care about Bishop. We have plenty of goaltending prospects. What we need is a proven NHL starter, and Bishop is not that. Stone and Puempel are interesting, but those two straight up for Brass/Erixon is a ripoff deal for the Jackets.

And "as long as nothing catastrophic happens" is NOT the basis on which you reassure a Jackets fan on probable results.

I'd really want this guy in the leafs. He has a lot of skill and with the right guidance think he can be good for us.

Yes, that "young goalie" who would immediately become the oldest on the CBJ roster and second-oldest in the system (behind only Curtis McElhinney).

It would also squeeze three NHL goalies on the active roster who would have to clear waivers to be sent down. Any one of those three would be immediately lost. Ergo, Bishop serves no purpose.

Not this Cory Schneider **** again. And especially not anything that involves Ryan Johansen, let alone a 1st-rounder as well.

Raymond is another LW, which we do not need. Rodin is not substantial enough to be of interest.

The price for Ryan Johansen is Jordan Eberle.

We'll only trade him if you'll take Hall too.

When Spezza is back

Michalek - Spezza - Silfersberg
Lattendresse - Turris - Alfredsson
Brassard - Smith - Neil
Greening - O'Brien - Condra

pretty tough team
Ottawa doesn't have a second this year and I don't think they'll move Stone for a center. I'd probably offer Matt Puempel for Brassard.

Unfortunately, Columbus doesn't need small skilled player (Desharnais) and the rest of the team is either not enough, or too much.

If it matters, I'd switch the 2nd rounder with Raphael Diaz, but he's a small defender.

Oh well. Out of the Brassard race already.
Actually, there was a deal worked out on the first page. Cole + 2nd (late) for Brassard; preferably with salary retained

I was thinking something along the lines of that 1st deal too, but with the way Raymond has played, Brassard isn't an upgrade really IMO.

I think the 1st CBJ deal is fair but CBJ probably won't do it and we don't need another center either way, even if it is a complete stud like Johansen.

And I'm not sure what that 2nd Schneider trade is.

Johansson or Perrault (and whatever else needed) from the caps? Preferably Johansson.

Reading this I immediate thought of Weber saying, "But my mum thinks I'm cool."

I don't know why.

Much as I would love this. Columbus is in the process of a rebuild and are better served to see what they have than moving huge assets for Schneider, especially when the Boson duo is giving them reasonable goaltending.

As much as I want to see Brassard given time on a line with Hossa torching the Blue Jackets, I think I'll pass.
