Honestly, no offense, I really hope he's not dangling Perron in front of Toronto.

Not really seeing anything worth sending Perron your way for.

And no, not interested in Phaneuf.

I really can't see Kessel being moved but if there is any validity to the rumors then Kessel+Bozak+Fraser for Tarasenko+Berglund would be good for both or even crazier drop Fraser and add Phaneuf and drop Tarasenko to Stewart and add either Shattenkirk or Pietrangelo so either
Kessel+Bozak+Fraser for Tarasenko+Berglund
or
Kessel+Bozak+Phaneuf for Stewart+Berglund+Shattenkirk/Peitrangelo

But i suspect Armstrong is scouting someone for his PK ie Fraser

Possibly scouting someone to take Langembrunners spot. Bring in a guy like Steckel/McClement/Brown?

I don't read to much into GM's going to games... You can the same game on a screen at home sometimes you don't pick everything up in the stands.

I don't see a trade. Both teams play a really similar style and run 3 very solid scoring lines.

I've said it a million times, and I know Blues fans have too, the Leafs and Blues make terrible trading partners. They both have similar needs. Maybe at the deadline they look for depth, like all contenders, then I could see a deal but right now, no.

St Louis and Toronto are not good trading partners. And if Blues are scouting Leafs then it is not Gunnarsson they are after since he is currently injured and did not play against Carolina either.
And no way are we trading Dion, he have looked really good since he got a coach who did not allow him and the others on the team to skate around like headless chickens.

But who knows what these GMs have in mind. That Burke wanted Kessel so badly was not something one could figure out when he took over and talked about truculence, grit etc. Even less so when the squad had so many other holes to fill. Did not see the Phaneuf deal coming either. And last time we traded with St Louis and gave up on Cola and Steen for a soft inconsistent winger I did not see that one coming either. I do hope Nonis think a little more long term but who knows, he might want to show that he is the new GM and make his mark on the team.

We may be looking at komarov. Speedy centermen who's starting to figure out how to score in this league. Maybe gunnarsson and komarov for dags, McRae and a 2nd?

I think with the Leafs sitting in a playoff spot it unlikely Nonis is going to dismantle the team at this point in time. If we were going to make a trade with STL then it would likely be spare parts for a mid to late round pick.

No kidding. We aren't trading our captain or 25 year old sniper for peanuts. Especially when riding a 4 game winning streak and sitting 4th in the conference.

Leo Komarov is to us what Vladimir Sobotka is to you.

Any deal for Sobotka, you guys say you want an overpayment. Same with Komarov. The guy is just a pain in the ass to play against. Plus he can skate and play a very strong two-way game, along with chipping in here and there on offense.

Its no more imaginative then Kessel or Phaneuf being in the discussion. Leafs are 4th in the east, and playing red hot right now. We are not moving significant assets at this time.

Lets put this into some perspective. Is Tarasenko an awesome young prospect? Yes. But hes 21. The much maligned Nazem Kadri is less then a year older, and has a higher PPG this season then Tarasenko. Kadri is playing with Matt Frattin and Clark MacArthur, not a couple of star players. He is getting 3rd line minutes.

Going back in history, Dion Phaneuf put up a 49 pts in his first NHL season at Tarasenko's age. Kessel at age 21 put up 36 goals.

That is why its unrealistic for any of those players to be included. This isnt going to be a major trade. Its going to involve secondary assets. We have a glut of bottom 3 dmen (Komisarek, Franson, Kostka, Holzer, Frasor, Liles) and an odd spare part at forward (Steckel, MacArthur, Brown).

Out of that list Steckel, Brown, and Komisarek did not play. Im guessing your GM wouldnt come to the ACC if the guy he was watching wasnt playing.

Phaneuf isn't available. MacArthur, one of the depth defensemen -- think Liles, Grabovski is a significant player is coming back.

Andy Strickland @andystrickland Rumor lovers out there. #Flyers scouting Blues last night, #stlblues scouting Flyers Toronto.#Flyers need scoring, #stlblues could use Dman

Andy Strickland @andystrickland The #stlblues will have to pay a decent price to get their hands on a Dman who can really help this team. #needquality
Well its logical, but unlikely that Flyers have expendable D at this point. Leafs are the likely bet. We need room in order to get Gunnarsson/Gardiner back into the line-up.

Everything is available. Holzer, Fraser, Phaneuf, Gunnarsson, Gardiner, Kostka, Franson, Liles, Komisarek,

Leafs hang up. Komarov is quickly becoming a key player for the Leafs. Does a lot of little things right and up there with the league leaders in hits. He's exactly what the Leafs need. Gunnarson is hurt.

I can see MacArthur, Grabo or Liles being in the discussion from a Leaf pov.

Realistically theres not a chance that Phaneuf is available at this time. Were not selling assets for futures. If he was going think Backes coming back, which isnt happening.

Well with gunnarsson coming off the IR a spot needs to open up. With Gardiner likely not spending much more time in the minors we need to move a defenseman. I'm thinking one of Liles, Franson, Gunnarsson in a trade for Jaden Swartz or Jake Allen. Just a hunch. Why on earth would St.Louis trade their captain?

Why would we? Thats the point. Phanuef isnt available. You put him on your list of available Dmen.

Oh, yea. Your right. Hes not available. This team looks like they are well in the hunt for the playoffs. Unless the 18 wheeler derails in the next two weeks i expect we add pieces via trade from the back end.
