This draft is two rounds deep with first round talent. Ergo, I want TWO top pmd prospects.

I'm not ready to trade BB yet, I want to see how he does on a line with malkin/crosby.

Also I don't think we are going to need to trade up at all, this is going to be a tremendously deep draft.

Why move up? Get a late 1st or early 2nd for Bennett. Draft is two rounds deep with first round talent. So, you trade Bennett, and you can have 3 first round talent pmd prospects

Realistically, it's time for some forward prospects.

The order of guys I want in the 1st round:

1. Anthony Mantha
2. Kerby Rychel
3. Curtis Lazar

In the 2nd round, I would go with Hudson Fasching, but if Ryan Fitzgerald (son of Tom) is there when we pick in the 2nd, I think we take him.

EDIT: Maybe switch Lazar and Rychel.

No idea, he's a small player, has 30 points (14 goals, 16 assists) in 26 games in the EJHL.

I'm thinking we take him simply because his dad is our assistant GM.

For the love of god just don't draft anymore dmen. Hopefully our scouts can tell Shero what forwards to pick. They might need to lock him in a closet on draft day so that he doesn't draft a dman.

Maybe. I'm using TSN's mid season draft rankings and they have him ranked 56th.

I think we all know they're going F this year. Only thing that could put a wrench in that would be a really good d-man dropping a ton, but even then, I'm not seeing it.

Indeed -- looks like a Neal-esque player. I don't think he'll be around though where I assume the Pens will be picking.

Been saying it for months:

Shero is going to use a D-prospect to move up and grab Valeri Nichushkin a la Murray/Tarasenko.

Nichushkin-Malkin-Neal

More realistically:

1. Lazar
2. Zykov
3. de la Rose
4. Rychel

Of course the best method is to draft BPA, but I'd be disappointed if they draft a project/boom-bust type like JT Compher. This is a very deep draft, I'd rather grab a more pro ready prospect even if he's not considered the BPA or has the highest ceiling. Good draft to take risks in the later rounds.

Is is looking exactly like the type of player we need right now. Domi is another guy and we love those London players but I don't think he will be around when we pick

Mantha as well just keeps going up in the prospect rankings but as we all know the draft always has 3-4 unexpected players drafted higher

here are some possibilities Bo Horvat, Morgan Klimchuk ,Curtis Lazar, Anthony Duclair and Valentin Zykov.....lazar doesn't have a ton of points put he does have 27 goals..not bad. zykov has some nice numbers- gp51 g32 a30 p62 and a plus 22..he has good size 6foot 210.

Mantha or Hartman.

I would take Hartman in the bottom of the 1st round. He's kind of like a smaller Hartnell or a Morrow type. Also while he's not flashy, he has enough skill and sense to play in the top 6.

I've only seen Zykov twice but he looked pretty good to me. Has anyone seen him more than that?

I would love to have Mantha, but I don't think he would fall to us. Everyone is always saying we need "Crosby's Neal" And with Mantha I think we could make that happen.

I think we have a good chance of getting Lazar, who I wouldn't mind. I also like Arturri Lehkonen, who should be available when we pick. He plays a very well rounded game, and is already in the highest Finnish league, putting up decent points. Domi, Zykov, and Rychel are also people who I would like to take.

Basically, as long as Shero goes with a forward, I'll be happy, because there are so many great options out there.

A little bit like an Okposo but more of a goal scorer. Good hand skills, not overly fast but a strong, well balanced skater and plays an active burly game.

I almost even want to say Kulemin but he doesn't skate like him.

Adam Erne but I doubt he falls that far. Should be a top 10-15 pick.

Rychel would fit in very well here, I think.

I certainly have a slight bias as a Spitfires season ticket holder, but he strikes me as the kind of guy who'd do really well on a line with a superstar - he's talented enough to produce by himself, but knows how to complement a skilled centre too.
