I think he should wait until next season before he gets a call up. After the season he had last year, letting him have a full season where he's been more successful in adjusting to the pace of the game would be beneficial to him. I assume if Martinez is on the IR it means he'll be out for a while, so anyone they recall won't be up for a day or two.

If they continue to play this way, they will win 16 out of every 20 games the rest of the way.

Historically the Kings have a tendency to lose to bad teams so I'm glad they took it to the Blues last night. No matter how bad they were.

I mostly agree with what kingsfan said above, but would add that I think Kolomatis has pretty much peaked in terms of development and I'd rather see what the Kings have in him at this point and if he can hang at the NHL level. Deslauriers has a higher ceiling, and while it's no secret around here I'm not his biggest fan, my reason for him staying in Manchester is this: I think he still needs to grow and learn at the AHL level before he gets a callup. Worried that a callup and a disasterous play in a game would ruin any confidence he's gained so far this year.

I'd much rather see Deslauriers brought along like Voinov and have a top level veteran to help ease him into the lineup like Voinov got with Mitchell. That just isn't an option right now with the Kings d-core.

When the Kings are on their game, they make the opponent look bad. Most teams can't handle the Kings size up front when the Kings are on their game. The Kings forecheck can be ferocious and leads to mistakes and scoring chances for the Kings.

When the Kings take a night (or period off), they can look horrible. They don't have the top end skill to take periods off and still pull out wins.

The Kings didn't take any nights off in the playoffs last season and rolled through everyone. Hopefully they have turned the corner this week and will keep the effort level up and get back into the top 8.

That's a great point TM, who do you pair Deslaurier with if you call him up.

At least Kolomatis has more professional experience under his belt and likely more familiarity with guys like Voynov and Muzzin and A-Mart than Deslaurier does (even Drewiske for that matter). He has more expereince with the bulk of the Kings current blueline than Deslaurier does.

Throwing Deslaurier out there with anyone other than Scuds is a disaster waiting to happen, and if you put him with Scuds, you basically are guaranteeing a Muzzin/DD pairing and that didn't work to well last time.

I haven't seen anything yet, but the Kings have an off day today. We will probably get more information tomorrow.

The only report I've seen was an upper body injury and he is expected to go on IR and Campbell is expected to be called up.

The problem is the back surgery: how much has this affected his game?

I was at the Shames game last night so didn't get to see it, but were they that bad? They were unreal against detroit. Maybe St. Louis put their best against Kopi, and that helped free up Carter.
The advantages of having the depth the kings should have.

Not to mention the fact that they're rounding into the form we saw last spring.

Craig Button. Real Man of Genius.
Sure he is.

There are reasons why guys like Button and Milbury are sitting at the "analysts' desk" instead of in a GM's office. Their analysis is frequently flawed.

Why anyone cares what those two idiots think, is beyond me.

They are sitting in a desk talking about hockey for a reason.

They are both complete MORONS.

Sometimes I think Button gets paid to say stupid things. It's the sole reason for having him on the air, to give people something to laugh at because he so often is 100% wrong.

It's not about caring what they say, its listening to what they say for the sole entertainment value.

Craig Button is a total homer, consistently unprofessional in his clear biases, and very rarely taken seriously. He hates the Kings, for whatever reason, said the Carter trade was terrible, thought the Kings would get swept in the first round against the Canucks, and was nowhere to be found during the SCF.

Guy isn't very bright, hence his quick burnout trying to run hockey clubs.

Milbury is Milbury.
