Los Angeles isn't going to trade Voynov, and they absolutely aren't going to trade him to a division rival. Their GM would be lynched.

Your sarcasm needs work, and again... teams rarely trade with division rivals. The only way the Kings make that trade is if doing so makes them a lot better.

That was part of the salary dump to fit Teemu and Scotty back in. And yeah, it sucked losing O'Donnell.

Parros we got from Colorado.

edit - and actually the juxtaposition of Parros with O'Donnell shows just how dangerous Burke was to an organization's ability to sustain a farm system. We traded a second round pick for Parros. We got nothing in return for O'Donnell.

O'Donnell was clearly a cap dump though - we were desperate.

I'm pretty sure we acquired a minor league goalie from LA at one point too. There was also the Pronger for Johnson and a 1st rumor that Strickland created. Glad that didn't happen.

Rici was talking about how Vatanen looked a lot better (in the previous seasons obviously) in the Finnish league than many players who are regulars at NHL level did this season. I think you have to take into account the fact that players like Alec Martinez, Jason Demers, Kris Russell, Stephane Robidas and Kurtis Foster had absolutely no need to put forth their best effort when playing here in Finland. Their livelihood didn't depend on it.

Actually they will pay players just because they're NHLers. And it's not necessarily a bad move even if the player only gives 80 percent. A player with NHL status sells a lot of extra tickets over here.

roarr roarrr!

how stupid leopard!

as if vatanen had to play for life at AHL! he just surfd abit there to stay in matchform for whenevere NHL would start. HEADBRAINS at anaheim has talked and chewd bout how impressd they are w vatanen. that he must come over quick to NHL etc,.over last seasons, then suddenly they decide putting veteran player in favor and have the great atletics still put aside somewhat over here. and yes i say again, vatanen did great while in anaheim, many times could have scored points and great great at the defense., no misstakes whatsoever, one time did misstakes. superior at defense. outplayed teammates!

and yes saw lydman last game. typical game by him...remember first? goal for st louis...lydman couldnt get puck outa zoun despite all time in world and empty field!...other goal lydman didnt play the puck despite could have reached it and have puck stolen...then st louis player shot the puck...goooooooooal again!

please see games w glasses . follow players on ice. watch. think.

thank you. soon game see ya

Anaheim has said they are impressed with a number of prospects. That doesn't mean they should get roster spots.

St. Louis' first goal was a PP goal. Lydman was not on the ice. In fact Lydman was only on the ice for one of the Blues 5 goals.

You guys should stop encouraging him. You know it doesn't matter what you say. You can't have a normal conversation with him.

He'll make far more in the NHL than he ever could in the SEL. So much so that one season's worth of AHL salary is a no brainer investment.

Well, if he wants money, he'll go to KHL; he was drafted 1st in first ever KHL draft. I bet they'd pay par with what he's going to get in NHL.

But Sami wants NHL, he wants to become a Duck and I bet he'll make it.

For many european skaters that AHL salary is not a "no brainer investment" and is instead a mark that their NA career is over. Very few Euro skaters who have played full time seasons in the AHL go on to have NHL careers.

He isn't a generic random euro league guy hoping to make it. He's going to make it. Just maybe not now. But when he does, a guy like Vatanen, he'll make more than the entire salary budget of half the SEL teams on his second contract. So yeah, it's a no-brainer.
