" I knew he wouldn't be a four year player" ... talks about him being to able to play right now and not look out of place for a game as an 18 year old . "Is he ready to play night in and night out? I don't know if there is an 18 year old dman in the NHL right now " .... Possible he leaves after this year. Says his body will be different in 6 months time and while he is big , he says there is a difference when you go in a college locker room and an NHL one ( really?) ... he needs to grow into his game type.....

Berenson also says Serville is a classic 4 year player and it all depends on his development on whether or not he has a pro future.

Says there is no comparison between Trouba and Serville as far as talent/ability.

looks like his frame is filling out a bit Gump, man he looks big against juniors?

Really nice to see a guy that sets up shop in front of the other teams net, competes, and gets results in the dirty area. You can never have enough of those guys on a team and he might make a very valuable PP asset in that roll.

He was in on pretty much every play that ended well for the Bronco's.

I wonder how much bigger he will get.

Another off-season of mass building could push him upwards 210lbs and I have to think he could push as much as 220lbs in a couple years. More mass and a bit of skating work should really help his big man game translate.

Should be fun to watch.

I'd be happy if we just had one.

I've probably watched 1/3 of his games this season online but passed on that one. One thing I'd add is that he lost the few draws they show on that video, but that is misleading and the radio guys were absolutely raving about his work on face-offs in that game.

He does go to the net consistently, persistently, and you can't say that about any of the current Jets IMO. His coaches use him nearly every second shift, 5-5, pk, pp. He does look big against juniors but he probably needs another 10 or 15 pounds on the frame yet to play physically and effectively against men. I hope he makes the Jets right out of camp this coming season.

Even without seeing his frame its still hard to imagine a guy that is 6"5" not being able to live north of 220 lbs when he matures.

Yea is did notice the draw he lost that ended up in the Bronco's net but that happens to the best of them.

Depending on what happens to the UFA's this summer he might have a shot at the opening day lineup but I sense he would also be well served by a year on the rock learning to compete against men. If we don't get Antro, Poni, or Welly resigned and he has a lights out camp he might have a shot because we will be needing some big bodies on the parent club. I still think he will have at least some time in the AHL but man would that be a pleasant suprise.

I always report the good news on Lowry; according to this game sheet though he was a minus three tonight...
http://www.whl.ca/schedule/show/game/64155

They can't all be masterpiece games, apparently. He missed on his shootout opportunity as well. That said, Saskatoon has played Swift Current really tight all season long. Guess who checks Lowry and shuts him down pretty much every time they play? Sutter!

The Guelph Storm announced today that forward Scott Kosmachuk is the Hy-Grade Steel Roofing Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 11th.

Kosmachuk picked up three goals this past weekend in a couple of match-ups against the rival Kitchener Rangers. On Wednesday in Guelph, the Toronto native scored the first goal of the night on the powerplay in the Storm’s 5-2 loss. Friday night in Kitchener, he was named first star of the game tallying twice in the Storm’s 4-3 shoot out victory over the Rangers.

The Winnipeg Jets prospect currently leads the Storm in points with 52, goals with 29 goals and powerplay goals with 10. Kosmachuk has picked up at least one point in 10 of the last 12 games.

That's actually not true, especially lately.

Last night the Ferland-Walker-Stransky line went head to head with Lowry all night. The guy who has been shutting him down lately when these teams meet has actually been Duncan Siemens.

Thanks. I didn't see that game as I was watching the Jets lose instead.

A hattie for Scheilele so far. It's still in the 2nd period. And an assist.

I've been watching the game - VERY impressive outting for him. He's almost single handedly destroying the 67's. Zoinks. He's jumped up to 20th in scoring in the OHL, one point behind Galchenyuk (who played 1 less game before heading to MTL).

EDIT: here's the OHL top 20, sorted by PPG...

He's to Ottawa 67's the same way 99 was to us version 1.

10-1 now. Embarrassing at this point - wonder if the Colts will keep running up the score? Zoinks. Scheif passed Galchenyuk in scoring, and is now sitting in 19th. I give him a week, and he'll crawl back up into the top 10. He's now 2nd in PPG, at 1.79, just ahead of Strome at 1.77, and just behind Galchenyuk at 1.85.

Damn. That's a huge night. Hopefully he can keep it up. He certainly has a chance of finishing top 5 in OHL scoring.
