playoff teams need to beat teams like florida and carolina with backups to be successful

winning 2 out of the next 3 would be ideal

i really think they should baby him and not rush him back..i still want to see nonis trade a late draft pick for a veterin backup just incase it lingers..we have the team to make it to the playoffs but thats not happening if scrivens, rynnas start 10 more games

hey guys, habs fan here. Glad to see that Reimer is not too seriously injured, he's playing great!! Although i think maybe he should sit maybe 5 games or so, ive had two MCL sprains and my doctor said 7-10 days, and i ended up taking about 14-18 days. It didnt feel right after the 7 days. Just thought id share

You wouldn't want to share Price for a couple of weeks, would you?

Note it does say minimum 1 week, but this is still probably the best news we could've heard.

Hopefully we don't go on a losing streak and get tempted to rush Reimer back. Kipper and Halak just reinjured themselves by coming back too soon.

Glad it wasn't too serious.

That said, Scrivens really came through last night saving 32 of 33 and really hasn't looked that bad. Barring the 7-4 loss to the Islanders nearly three weeks ago, he's kept the goals against down to one or two and the only other loss was against Buffalo, a team we always have trouble with, where the team could only drum up one goal against Miller.

Don't care about his swimming or juicy rebounds, as long as the goals against is low and the team can score more than two goals a game.

These things tend to take longer than expected. He may be out of commission for a week (and it does say at least), but by the time he gets in practice, is back in game shape, etc., I think it will be the 2-3 week range. Hopefully closer to 2.

You're not a doctor or a professional athlete and everyone heals differently. Plus the report says 'one week minimum' so it could be a bit longer.

Glad to hear "mild" and "MCL". Much better than it looked.

Hope he's back soon in good form. I'm a B's fan,but one of those guys who think the league is much better when TOR are in the mix.

A day or two ago, yes. So if people are giving you a hard time on other boards, let me know and I'll bully them a bit .

Fake sympathy. Don't act like you give a damn. You're loving this news.

This is better news then I expected. Scrivens can carry the load for now. The east isn't very good this season and a lot of teams goaltenders are struggling. My bet is they still hold a playoff spot by the time Reimer gets back.

I feel like I predicted this in the GDT when Woodman stated it looked like a PCL tear...

I should be a doctor

MCL for a goalie is nothing to take for granted, bad luck but atleast not a tear.

Glad he didn't tear or injure his ACL... At first I thought it was his groin until he limped

Wonder if Feschuk has called his mom to get the "real story" on the injury?

while it sucks that he is out, this is a good week for it to happen. 2 games only. Might make the team get even more serious about D to protect Scrivens. These are the tests that make a team grow or fold. Go Leafs!
