There really are no similarities other than people dying.
you can kinda argue the lack of international response. yes, i know the allies declared war, but that was more of an action for invading poland. the true atrocities of the holocaust surfaced after the liberation of the camps.

Gotta look past the surface...

Similar economic and social factors allowed the groups that carried out the two genocides to come to power. Each involved one ethnic group persecuting another, and in some cases blaming them for their lot in life.

Not to mention that on a psychological level the similarities are boundless... What types of conditions led to both? What, psychologically, allowed people who in other situations might not be terrible people to become monsters and carry out horrific deeds? On the flip side, why did so many people in both situations stand by and just watch it happen? Both involved a similar us vs. them mentality (human nature in virtually every aspect of life is to find an "in group" -- a group you fit in -- and then find reasons to see fault in everyone who is not a part of that "in group").

Considering you're the one who wanted to see his ladyfriend, I'd say CCP is the one with the power in this relationship.

Wrote about that too. Russia, US, and Britain only liberated the camps at the end of the war. Also wrote how no one gave a **** about Rwanda as all the UN troops were taken out of there.

Also pinpointed that one main reason for why the US even went to war, was for economic reasons. Britain and France owed them $2.3 Billion from World War I and Britain owed them even more from the Lend-Lease Act. US couldn't afford to have Britain and France go under.

My senior seminar. It's a current events class, a mixture of social studies and english. (two teachers, one soc and one english)

The class is legit retarded. We do nothing and watch movies on Thursdays and Fridays. The most homework we get is a 1 page double-spaced reaction paper to the movie we watched.

So because of what's happening in Mali, our soc teacher thought it was a good idea to show us the movie Hotel Rwanda (saw that movie three times, wanted to kill myself in class). FYI, Rwanda and Mali are totally different situations IMO.

So we had to write an essay today comparing Rwanda to the Holocaust. We didn't even talk about Mali. Talk about a current events class

haha, gotcha. and yeah basically. With Mali you have Islamist groups wanting to break away and form its own country (I may be wrong, please correct me if so). While in Rwanda, it was basically forced upon them.
