About time for Hordichuk to go on waivers. Need center help and VV will get the call for tomorrow. Hordi just does nothing for us.

No idea why they traded karlsson he's better than both those
The problem isn't the goalie, it's the team in front.

I swear Matt Ellis has been on waivers at least 5 times in the past few years.

It makes sense if Kipper is more seriously injured than previously expected. They must be assuming that he's going to be out a long time and that Taylor isn't really going to be a decent long-term backup for Irving.

Kipper is skating and may play this week.

I'm sorry but when your team has no highly touted goalies in the AHL and your stuck as the 3rd string goalie like Irving was, you suck especially considering Irving is supposed to be highly touted.

Also it's kind of obvious Taylor sucks (we're talking NHL level here not AHL) He was only signed by the flames because they had to sign a goalie with only 2 under contract that were in the NHL/AHL/ECHL

Plus ur team wouldn't be claiming Joey macdonald if either goalie was good watch Mac will take over as the starter from Irving until kip is back and then Mac will be the backup

The problem isn't the team, it's management. They need to realize kipper can't always carry the team on his back and their core is getting way too old. They need to sell and rebuild but the management will never do that because they believe they can build a playoff team. I remember last year back in dec/jan when feaster guaranteed they'd make the playoffs and look what happened

Glad Ellis cleared. Rochester will be happy.

Hordichuk is the next victim of the extinction of the pure goons in the NHL. Not surprised.

Yeah,he has basically no hockey abilitly whatsoever, everytime he's on the the ice it looks like the other team has a powerplay.

I'd be surprised if the Barons even want him on the roster, they'll probably assign him to the ECHL.

I could see Hordichuk getting claimed by someone in the East to keep up with Thornton, Prust, McLaren, Orr, Labrie, Scott, Ott, McCormick, Westgarth, Boulton, Barch, Bickel, Neil, Carkner, Shelley, Rinaldo, Brown, Cooke, Hendricks, Peluso and all the other agitators/fighters in the East.

perhaps calgary wants to give irving some starts in the ahl once kipper comes back and macdonald can sit on the bench since kipper usually plays majority of the season

They've had the opportunity to do that and they haven't so why would they start now?

The sad reality is that Irving cannot stay with the Flames if his career is to develop. Given what's happening with the team, ownership and management right now MacDonald is the better match as Kipper's backup.

That's IF Kipper is coming back soon and not just skating to stay in shape.

Any AHL-goalie who is in game shape is an upgrade over a guy without games in a year (MacDonald).

lol Hordichuk.

Have to hand it Darcy - been picking up a NHL paycheck for years and long after he was any real use. Same formula - go out, bang around, get hurt and collect money while on the IR.

Darcy's hands were done years ago which makes his fighting prowess very suspect

I thought Irving looked decent against the Canucks. The score could have been a lot worse if he hadn't made a couple of big saves.

The Flames don't seem to have a clue of how to develop any kind of young talent. The way they've handled Irving is a joke.

He's done that twice this year...And also went out once, threw a hit and the blade came off his skate. Can't see how anyone would claim him.

Hordichuk clears waivers.

Boston puts Jay Pandolfo on waivers, Calgary puts Danny Taylor on waivers.

Too bad - thought Taylor would get a chance.

Although frankly Irving has played pretty well, so I'm not sure Taylor would really have seen any time.

Kipper is out another 2 weeks, would rather have an NHL proven backup behind Irving
