There's just no way unless we make a trade. And unless that trade was really in the works, Bergevin will not, should not panic for a trade just because Mr. Kassian is available. But you can't move Nokie based on injury. You won't put Armstrong on waivers, 'cause Therrien actually won't do that. And frankly, you don't give that treatment to guys you went on to sign as UFA.
And I surely hope that we take our time and if we have to trade Weber, we don't trade him for a 7th rounder. The guy still has potential, and moreso for other teams who will believe that Weber is just at the wrong spot right now and never had a real chance. So no need to panic on the Weber front because of Kassian either.
We never know though....Ryan White could be traded during the 1st or 2nd intermission....That would be an upgrade over last year's, preferable to trade a guy who's not playing than one who is...

IMO, I would be extremely unlikely that the Habs trade White. You have to live with those guys while they're still "growing" up.
EDIT: Remember when he scored 2 goals against the Habs?
How do you know he is ? I thought that won't be announced till tomorrow around noon ?
He can't do anything but fight. If we really need a heavy weight, then this is Bergevin's chance if he believes in it. Aren't we at the 23 man roster ?
The best course would probably be to trade, dump or do whatever with Yannick Weber. SHould've had more of a chance this year, but let's face reality... If things remain the way they are, the guy is gone to Europe next season regardless.
We MUST pick up Kassian. That Cup-winning Blackhawks team had Ben Eager and Adam Burish on that team, and we have no one of their caliber. This really shows if Bergevin is "bringing Chicago to Montreal".

Adam Burish is a **** disturber and no better fighter than Moen, White, or Prust. Eager is better than Moen(fighting wise) and his size could help him beat Prust, but he's no Matt Kassian in terms of fighting.
Kassian is a good fighter but can't play more than 5 min a game
No... he is pure old school goon, and always has been, even in junior. He's 6'5" and 230 or something like that, and he can fight. That's it. He never scored 5 goals even in the minors, right? That doesn't automatically exclude him from consideration as an addition, IMHO. But to me, there is still the 23-man roster question, who goes, and for what return, and what is Kassian's "intangibles" factor. Like when we had Downey or even Staubitz, I think they were recognized as good guys who worked hard even while serving pressbox duty, and that's important for the 13th forward, IMHO. I don't want just some psycho tough guy who won't set the right example to the young players. We're still a building team. You have to build with the right personalities, not have a freak show going on.
He will. We have a poster here who is half avs fan half habs fan, and we already discussed it. He said that he can't see the avalanche letting him go to UFA. Just going off of what I've been told.
