Am I the only one not surprised he cleared ? I still think Labrie would not clear waivers he would be picked up by someone. Tough guys that can play a little are always in demand.
So I havent had a chance to read the new CBA fully yet, does anyone know if they did away with Re-entry waivers now? I thought I remember reading something about that during the discussions. So in other words, Tyrell wouldnt have to go through waivers to come back up if we wanted him to.

I believe you're right. Capgeek says they are no more.
Im glad he cleared cause Syracuse needs some fire up there and he slides in Killorn's spot but I'm pretty sure his chance to be an impact player in the NHL is over. He'll get up call up here or there but when his contract is up next summer depending on how other prospects develope he might not get a new contract.
"His speed and his skating ability, his strength are all NHL caliber, so I thought for a first game in the NHL against a very good team, he didn't look out of place at all,'' general manager Steve Yzerman said of Killorn. "I thought he was very effective.''
After getting through some nervous energy in his debut, Killorn said he was able to settle into the game quickly.
"I didn't want to make too many mistakes. But after that, I got a little more comfortable,'' Killorn said. "It was a great experience; my first game, my first point. (The speed) was an adjustment at first, for sure, you definitely have less time with the puck but you also have some pretty good players to help you out, so it works both ways.''
"He's a big body that protects the puck extremely well," Lightning coach Guy Boucher said. "He skates, and he's got a great shot and is extremely smart."
Conacher, who played with Killorn in Syracuse, compared him to Rangers 6-4, 216-pound LW Rick Nash, "a guy that's big and has so much skill and speed and a wicked shot. He's going to help this team and stick around in the league for a long time."

"I never let that (negativity) enter my head. I don't let that in my thoughts,'' said Tyrell, who contributed five assists in 26 games for Tampa Bay last season. "It (his knee) is as strong as ever. That's the way I'm going to think about it.
"I feel as fast. Some people even said I look faster. It (the injuries) help build character. You stick with it. I've had a few bumps in the road. I just seem to come back strong.''

"You want to develop your game more,'' Tyrell said. "That's a point I took for this experience. Worrying is the most useless emotion you can have.''
