Rangers Oilers Proposal

moreau and winchester to rangers for rachunek

Rangers add grit, leadership and size up front. Winchester been on the trading block, but is young has size. They can use another dman, Rachunek would help their d. It would give us a spot for Staal, Pock or another ufa like markov.

tell you right now, no way moreau gets traded. i also don't think rachunek is what we need, we need a 1-2 guy, we have plenty of 4-5-6 guys.

I like Rachunek, I think his time away from the NHL has made people forget how good he is.

However, I just don't think the Oilers can deal Moreau. At a time when we're apparently having a hard time convincing people to stay in town, trading away a guy who negotiated himself a pay-cut in exchange for a long-term deal would be the wrong message.

Silly. Winchester is not what the Rangers need and Rachunek has more value than that.

From an Oilers standpoint I'd do that in the blink of an eye.

with a proposal like Rachunek for Winchester, can Staal for Reasoner be far behind..?

a guy leaves the NHL for 2 years and suddenly he's worth less than a couple of used jockstraps ?

Oilers won't be dealing away Moreau...

we don't have many forwards that can play the tought minutes
Only Moreau, Smyth, Horcoff, Pisani and Reasoner are going to be able to play those minutes

Hemsky, Stoll, Lupul, Torres, Schremp, Pouliot etc. are great offensively and on the PP but cannot play those tough 5 on 5 minutes.

Staal for Torres is iffy from my POV (Oilers fan though). Rachunek isn't close.

We are looking for a top pairing guy. We have enough 3-6 guys.

Rachunek > than anything Edmonton would be willing to part with.

I think you all are going to very surprised at how this very talented players game has matured. He's not going anywhere. He will end up being the sleeper ubersign of the summer.

Nothing against Staal though he should be a great #2 or even a #1 guy. I just value Torres that much.

thats a tough one to call s7ark, Raffi is still improving, But Staal looks to me like a surefire top pairing defender. he'll be a solid number 2 easily. but Torres is a heavy price to pay, I guess with the loss of Pronger though it might be a move you make simply because defenders are harder to come by.

You don't trade away players that score 27 goals in their 2nd regular season, especially when they have the ability to injure other players with clean hits.

very poor choice of words, that is not an ability to aspire to, it may be an outcome but I doubt that he or the oilers coaches for that matter would want him on the Ice with the intent to injure, clean hit or not. very poor choice of words
