Why go after Burke when you have Davidson already here? He's everything the Jackets would need as a GM.

Surprised they didn't do this before Nash trade.

Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding but are you calling the Jackets a South Eastern Team? They're Northern-Midwest...

About time! I pity the organization so much that I'd really like to see them succeed in the future. I'm going to start following the Jackets more closely now.

If Burke becomes the new GM, I smell him pulling out the stops to get Mackinnon and Drouin both together.

'bout time, really.
Also, I thought Burke was a terrible GM, etc. etc?

A loud, carnival barker type personality is just what a smaller market team like the Jackets can use. It would be a great fit but I'm unsure of what the situation with Davidson is.
If Burke gets hired Davidson will be the guardian of the 1st-round draft picks...................

The Jackets didn't renew the contracts of their scouts following the draft. Their contracts expired a few days after the draft, so this got tweeted as the Jackets "fired" their scouts immediately following the draft.

All the signs in kilometers put up on the I-75 in Northwest Ohio in the 80s to attract tourists from Ontario to Ohio really worked well.

Brian Burke is going in as an undercover Leafs development guy. Trade CBJ 1st rounders x 3 for Komisarek, Steckel, and MacA.

It's about friggin' time that this happened. Howson knew absolutely nothing about hockey. The CBJ are way better off, no matter who they bring in next (as long as it's not Milbury).

The new GM will have some "fun". They have a decent core of young players and prospects, to go along with 3x1st rounders in the upcoming draft.
Pretty good scenario to walk into if you are the new GM.

Gonna see this a lot. But if the organization had decided it's time to move on from a franchise player, it's best to let the GM trade him before you do the firing. Why? So trading the franchise player doesn't taint the new guy.

Here's hoping the Jackets, whoever they pick, can pull things together and progress-their fans deserve it.
I wonder....if Burke is GM, does he trade 2 1sts and a 2nd for Kessel?
I kid, I KID.......

Columbus fires GM Scott Howson. No idea if the new Quebec GM will be a francophone. :-) No, they're staying in Columbus. I think.
