I have always liked Hodgson more but Kassian has been much better than I expected this year.

I still think Hodgson will be the better player in the long run but I would probably prefer Kassian on the Oilers.

We both lost substantially, but I think the leafs are the team that lost the most from this

Right now I'd say Kassian is playing better. They both have had great offensive starts to the season but Kassian's points have come despite the lack of production from his linemates. That's what makes his start so impressive, IMO.

Hmm...I'd say Hodgson is the better player but I'd take Kassian for teams needs. Guy's a beast.

Who won the Hodgson/Kassian deal?

On deadline day 2012:

To Buffalo:
Cody Hodgson
Alexander Sulzer

To Vancouver:
Zack Kassian
Marc-Andre Gragnani

Who won?

honestly I think they should just lock or merge all "Kassian/Hodgson" threads like they did with Luongo

Buffalo won the Sulzer-Gragnani trade.

Kassian/Hodgson is a wash so far.

I agree for the time Gragnani was a Canuck. We would have let Sulzer walk at seasons end anyways.

I think Kassian is bigger stronger faster and a year younger than Hodgson. I say in 3 years the Canucks clobbered the Sabres on this one.

But that doesnt mean Hodgson wont be good. And they got Foligno to develop so they are in good shape long term.

Win-win for both teams. Canucks get some much needed toughnessand size. They also get rid of a player that wanted more TOI which wasnt going to happen because of Hank and Kesler.

Meanwhile, Buffalo gets a skilled center who is playing well with Pominville and Vanek. Kassian became "tradeable" because of the emergence of a similar player in Marcus Foligno.

Gonna go with Buffalo because it feels like they made that trade for a better reason at the time.

Vancouver made the trade because of internal issues with Cody Hodgson and or a member of his family. He was asking for something that was impossible to give him at the time.

Lets put it this way, Canucks fans are gratful that Cory Schneider is not doing what Cody Hodgson did with the Vancouver management.

You non Canucks fans, can try to piece it out yourselfs. None of u know exactly what happened. Its' one of those things, were you have to by following the Canucks closely you run into such information.

But I said when he was a Canuck and I will say it again since he's a Sabre. He will be one of the best players out of the 2008 draft. He is very complete, and I'm happy Sabres fans are happy with him. He is a really good kid and a great teamate.

Well according to some Canuck fans Hodgson changed from a potential point a game center with good leadership qualities to a talentless spoiled brat the instant he was traded. So I guess Kassian is better now.

It's a good trade for both teams.
