Kevin Weekes did on the NHL Network last night.. Not sure if you take his word as gospel though.

Still I would take JVR over Tlusty anyday, despite what the Hurricanes commentators say

Boston and Tampa tie it up with under a minute left, and Washington ties it up with 3 min left and ends up winning.

What a weird night

Great. People have called Chris Kelly a complete player. No one calls Kessel a complete player.

What's your point?
This is Toronto..there are people who are still regretting trades made in 1950s maybe..

I am honestly happy for Tlusty.. he just never really fit with this team. Paradis was a bad return but offense is hardly a problem.

Leafs are a top 10 offense in the NHL.

I think the point being made is that the best of his overall game involves defensive quality.

Hard to find good two way players to insulate highly skilled forwards on defence.

Tlusty just happens to be skilled offensively as well.

This has always been the case since he's come here from Europe.

The scouting report hasn't changed.

We just had a moron of a General Manager trade him away.

Even with the win, Montreal looked awful in that third blowing the 3-0 lead.

need to start putting some distance. The two Ottawa games coming up soon are important.

Boston getting points doesn't matter...they will win the division.

Montreal sucks and just blew a 3 goal lead to win the in the SO. I hope they keep winning a bit and finish 9th...can't have them getting a high draft pick.

Ottawa is a good team but them winning actually helps put teams like Buffalo away early in the season.

So far so good.

Ya but have you seen him for the past two seasons? Because hes been improving at the NHL level noticably as he actually gets ice time.

In Toronto basically what happened was Ron Wilson hated him Steen and Colaicovo (1st round picks...NHL players) and caused Leafs management or vis a versa to get rid of them in order along with several others of the past few years.

And Toronto does worse. Each time. When they do that...

These things add up I've noticed as an observant individual.

And each time Toronto loses out on a considerable amount of assets.

So while some teams got Claude Giroux with their first round picks (by keeping them) other teams got nothing in the 2006 first round of the NHL entry draft.

This is why we are really bad.

Because we keep trading NHL players away for less than that.

Chris Kelly is not a top six player like Jiri Tlusty.

They both give a tremendous effort in all three zones but that is where it ends.

Exactly, it's those 3 point divisional games that really hurt .. Luckily Ottawa beat Buffalo outright tonight .. Get Buffalo out of the way, and let's battle Ottawa for that spot

Saturday's game is a biggie, would help if the Leafs can pick up a win Thursday

i think this year it may come down to us/ottawa/montreal/buffalo for one or two playoff spots, depending on if Philly gets back into it

For a near complete healthy roster, Habs play pretty bad.

Remember when they said they were terrible because of injuries?

I hope they stay healthy...because they suck right now.
