Completely agree but everyone's gonna use tonight's lucky game as a reason for him to stay

Someone get that picture of Moen when he had a black eye
True warrior. He's been cold lately but Cole was also VERY COLD last season (in the beginning of it).

Moen is good for our top 9 depth (solid 4th liner). Give him some time.
White and Prust are there to police right now (if only ****ing Therrien can dress White).
Moen is there for strong veteran defence and some toughness and some fighting, but that job belongs to White and Prust now.
Armstrong is the one that really has to pick it up.
There was a time not long ago when Moen had to do all the fighting for this team.

Kassian:
all for it...hope it happens

From 3-0 to 3-3 (good Habs won, but this is ridiculous! phew!):
Therrien would have blamed White if the Habs lost this one.
(time for Therrien to eat his own **** and put White back in the lineup). White deserves to play on the 4th line. White can actually play some gritty/good hockey if you let him.

Moen is a solid guy on the PK, he goes cold from time to time, but he scores some timely goals. He's money in the playoffs.

Very low risk move IMHO. Never know, he might turn out to be a decent 4th liner. Plus you can always use guys like him in Hamilton.

In terms of the order of waiver claims, have we played enough of this season that the current standings would be used or would it be last seasons?

Can't we just waive nokelainen or is he on the IR list?

And maybe the nancy's who are anti-fighting should keep out of threads involving enforcers.

Numbers problem in Minnesota.

Spurgeon was coming back and they would be over is what understood so they waived Kassian and Scandella sent to the A.

I'm sorry about your anti fighting bias. Kurt Browning has some lovely stuff that's likely to be more your speed. Less fighting but the falls can be quite upsetting.

Staubitz was decent defensively for a heavyweight.

Ding-ding-ding, we have a winner!

Advanced stats are for people who need backing when those stats go their way. I personally chose to use my 45+ years experience watching and playing the game to make my opinions which, by the way, are no better (nor worse) than anyone else on this forum.

Hope I'm making myself clear.

I'd rather go with someone that's either a major upgrade over Armstrong or is a genetic freak like Bonn Scott, or better yet someone who doesn't have to pass through waivers to be sent to the minors.

The advanced numbers actually support his contention that Staublitz didn't stink at defense. His pure defense numbers are fine. No where near good but not why he was such a liability in hockey playing terms. It wasn't defense that made Staublitz stink, its his incredible lack of any offense which meant that you were going to lose the matchup with him on the ice no matter what. Judging by his comparables I'd guess the guy couldn't hack playing above 4th line in the AHL, let alone take a shift in the show without being a massive liability.

Which is why you can't look at defense just in a vacuum unless we're talking PKing. Because you can be brilliant defensively and still be a liability if you shut down your own teams offense to a greater degree. That was why Staublitz does not belong taking any shift in the National Hockey League. That this guy spent games on Plekanec's wing is like fingerpainting on a Rembrant.

Why is everybody down on Armstrong ? He created good enough offense so far for a 4th liner, and he's far for being soft. I know he didn't fight yet, but hopefully his time will come.

armstrong won't fight anytime soon. He did it less than 5 times over his whole carreer.

Habs don't have any room for Kassian on their line up.

They would have to trade for a pick or waive White or Kaberle or Weber to make space for the guy.

Who gets sent down if we pick up Kassian? Wouldn't picking him up put us at 24 players on the main roster?

I'd rather not lose White or Weber for nothing to make room for a player because of what happened in one game this season. Too reactionary of a move.

We're losing Weber anyways at the end of the season.

Whether he's RFA or UFA is pretty irrelevant if he plays in Europe.
