What was the first? I forget because it had no impact on the game...

Habs score a goal.

makes no sense.
I would think a fight has more bearing to the team that needs momentum.

man, I love watching eller on the 4th line. he has played incredible there, and it creates balance through all 4 lines. wouldn't mind seeing prust back with the young guys, or move bgally with pleks.

imagine if the 4th line scored 20 goals in total this season.

I remember but I don't care. I'm happy with the win and I can deal with the fact the team isn't a powerhouse. And anyway, teams blow leads almost daily in the NHL, that's hockey in a highly competitive league.

At this point in time last year, we had something like 3 wins. This year we're 7-4-1 and we've just had a new coach. I think you guys are way too emotive.

Alright, everyone! This is when the Habs will turn around their season!

(Therrien, play Subban more. Pair him with Gorges. Reduce Markov's minutes. The team will be better for it down the road.)

A big, shut down defenseman and a top line centre are still what this team needs. I love Gorges but he doesn't have the size to box out guys like Lecavallier or quick enough for stamkos etc. no knock on him, he's a true warrior but it is what it is. We're missing killer instinct and the ability to shut down another teams big, fast forwards.
Thank you well said

So did anyone like the Pacioretty - Gally - Gallagher line? I thought Pacioretty was pretty effective today. Had some great chances.

?

White took two selfish penalties that resulted in goals against while Moen, in the second period, a few minutes before his goal btw, dropped the glove after Crombeen’s incessant invitations.

That being mentioned, we sure need the energy of White on 4th. If he can’t learn to control his aggressiveness, I would like to see Dumont on 4th.

Really? I think Desharnais and Cole looked good; Pacioretty was somewhat invisible. Eller was better than the three aforementioned players.

I still believe that our 3rd period woes are, just like last season, mainly the result of an inexperienced D squad. This team never truly replaced Roman “The Stabilizer” Hamrlik.

-----------------------------

3 quick notes:

Subban is a better and tougher D than Diaz... right? So... why is Diaz receiving the same (or more!) ice-time than Subban? On even strength, I want to see Gorge – Subban as often as possible. Bouillon – Diaz would be a good 3rd pairing.

Kudos to our 4th line and an hm to Bourque’s hustle.

Btw... am I the only one who misses our right handed faceoff specialist Nokelainen?

Fought Thorburn when it was 2-0. Jets go on to make the game 3-2.

That one certainly created a momentum shift.

Why wasn't PK on the ice during the 6-on-4? Didn't Therrien watch Subban being dominant there last year?!

It's not okay, but it isn't uncommon in today's NHL. I'm happy with the win, that's all. If you want to focus on the negatives that's your prerogative. I won't try to force my opinion on you, I can tell you I strongly disagree though.

I posted a bit earlier saying I'd like to keep them together. Gallagher was terrific tonight, and Max was engaged. Galch was okay, but he needs to hit the net. Most important thing for me was that they all had passing chemistry. That's huge because they'll only get more in sync. I hope they become the 2nd line.

What a strange game. I didn't think the habs had a terrible 3rd period, as the habs controlled the flow, but every single mistake ended up in the back of the net.

The 3rd lightning goal just made me laugh. The journey that puck took to get across the line was pretty symbolic of the last few minutes of the game.

I'm not sure what to take out of this, other than another 2 points in the bank, but it feels like a donation of 1 pt to a team that the habs may need to fend off if they happen to be in playoff contention.

Mediocre team. Best case is the English sense of the word, worst case is the French, more negative, meaning. Either way I fear they're too good to tank, but not good enough to contend.
