Although the isles will probably be sellers, this move would leave DP as their starter, and I don't think they would want that to happen (even if it did happen, it wouldn't last long)

except Nabby would not be expected to be a long term starter and he wouldn't cost a 1st, 2nd, 4th not even CLOSE to the same

Yeah, Im not really seeing a contingency plan in goal for the Isles if Nabby is traded, because neither Nilsson nor Poulin seem ready for a full NHL workload. Trading him for picks/prospects would essentially throw the towel in on the season.

I didn't mean it in terms of cost. I meant that Nabokov isn't that great and I wouldn't want him as a mentor to reimer

Would make more sense to take Khabibulin off of the Oilers hands then use the amnesty come the summer.

We'd be better off signing either Johnson/Conklin/Roloson. No reason to make a trade for a goalie at this point. We make a trade it is to get rid of MacArthur and a d-man to make room for when Lupul is back and Gardiner is ready to be on the blue line.

He's the number one on the island, why would they deal him when they clearly like the guy. Khabibulin is the backup on a bad contract and would be dumped at a moments notice. Two completely different situations.
