After tonight's performance against a middleweight punching bag who was beat within a inch of his life last week you can see why Moen didn't come within 10ft of Orr.
I for one would love for Kassian to get a shot, I don't care what team it's with. Enforcers can still serve a role. It would make the game on the 27 a whole lot more fun to watch.

Crombeen's a pretty good fighter, I think.

We MUST pick up Kassian. That Cup-winning Blackhawks team had Ben Eager and Adam Burish on that team, and we have no one of their caliber. This really shows if Bergevin is "bringing Chicago to Montreal".
Adam Burish can't fight White,Moen and Prust would kill him in a fight. Why do people think he can fight? who has he fought and who has he beat?
I voted "No". But with the caveat that if there was a taker for Kaberle, I'd make that trade today and then take Kassian.
I'd also have shopped Kaberle enough to know if there even is a trade market for him... and if there isn't, I'd consider waiving him.
It ends up being trading away whatever deadline return I might have hoped for on Kaberle for Kassian. i.e. "the hope of a 3rd-7th round pick" for Kassian. Intangible hope for a player, that's ok.
I wouldn't give up White or Weber for Kassian, though.
And I wonder also what the timetable for Nokelainen returning is. I'm not against waiving him when the time comes either, but then there is the question of our faceoff situation atm.
Bottom line, I'd actually have to have more info than I do in order to really decide.
We'd be third in line after Columbus and Edmonton, right? We better claim the guy.
they can't claim him because they don't have a roster spot at the moment...too bad, i think with the way the Habs are presently built, adding a guy like Kassian makes a lot of sense.
Certainly more sense than having Kaberle as a 7th dman and Weber is pretty much an afterthought

And yet, of course, when he was a UFA, people were dying for the Habs to sign him.
We're not claiming Kassian because we don't have room for him. Pretty simple math.

I assumed that you can claim and then open up a space. Seems silly to encourage a system when a player would (potentially) be sent down from the NHL because other teams weren't able to claim him even though they wanted him. The PA would have every right to flip.
