Funny...that didnt seem to effect him in the gold medal game or the SEL playoffs when he pretty much broke every goalie record. I wouldnt get too worried about this.

I don't know what that garbage is or who they are trying to fool with it. I guess he developed that syndrom some time after he won 2 SEL championships in 3 years and after he won a Gold Medal at the Olympics full of NHL players. "Can't See". Give me a break. Maybe we lost because the entire team didn't bother to show up. The results were no better when Weekes was in net too. Fact is, you can post anything on the internet and claim anything with out fear of consequence.

A gold medal game in the Olympics for a team that sorely needed a fresh goalie carrying a TON of PRESSURE from the last Olympics. when was that? Who was the Goalie again? huh?

Maybe Lundqvist got tired towards the end of the season ... I mean ... 82 games season, Olympics and plus Playoff ...

If he got worn down towards the later of the season.... The Rangers need a reliable backup goalie ...

as Kevin Weeks re-sign with the Rangers? if not Manny Legacy for RedWings is available ..

but I agree this medical article story sound garbage to me ..

Or maybe it was because he was sitting with a hip flexor and he wasn't fully healthy? Jeez. If the Rangers defense even showed up a little, I mean, like for a period of the series....

I'd take Lundqvist in another playoff series and take my chances.

I'd love to know what "sources inside the organization" have reported/confirmed this "condition." Sounds like a bunch of crap to me as well.

while we here on this side of the pond think that the NHL & the Stanley Cup are the end all. On the other side of the pond it ain't necessarily so. The pressure to compete for one's country is enormous. The pressure is far greater. All that that post is si the ranting of some lamearse that had nothing better to do. By people repeatng it you help validate what the moron that wrote. You end up giving it a life of their own.

"Please note that this is a real report with valid sources within the Rangers organization."

hmm, very few credible news stories get ended like this.

The pressure of the Olympics

Pressure? Well, given that we have no NFL, no NBA, no Baseball, it's all about Soccer and Hockey.

As you might know there's a tournament for washouts who didn't make the playoffs known as 'IIHF World Championships'. That tournament gets about 100 times the media cover that the Stanley Cup playoff gets. And the coverage that the playoff gets is mostly about which swedes migth become available for 'washout' tournament.

Now guess how it looks if we're talking Olympic Hockey, with all our beloved (and multi millionaire) NHL 'stars'.

The team that went to Nagano in 1998 was heralded as the best national hockey team that Sweden had ever had, they blew it and ended up 5 or 6 or something.

2002 was time for the "The Showdown of the Stars", they sailed thru qualifying, beating the winner-to-be Canada with ease. Then went giggling into quarters against lowly Belarus.

And blew it, the entire team was labelled 'Traitors of the Nation'.

So in 2006, 8 years after the failure in Nagano, 4 years after disaster in Salt Lake, the last chance to have the 'Golden Generation', Forsberg, Sundin, Lidström, Näslund, Norström, Alfredsson et al, there's one last chance to deliver.

That 'NY Rangers' rookie didn't have 'pressure' on his shoulders, he carried 8 years of national trauma ...
