Do they realize that doing these things will just make it worst?

You can probably expect louder and rowdy fans when you do stuff like this.

Definitely. Then again, how embarassing must it be to be overrun by the opposing team's fans in your building?

I get it, but that doesn't make it less embarrassing then it already is. Our fanbase dominates over there.

anyone going to leaf-sens games in ottawa should come in with a sign that reads "I BOUGHT MY TICKETS FROM A SENS SEASON-TICKET HOLDER"

Damn right.

Either a sign or a t-shirt or something.

they should be happy they are filling the place.

Ottawa is still part of Canada isn't it? you can't turn fans away because of who they cheer for.

Honestly, who the hell within the Sens organization comes up with these truly assinine ideas? The Sens have put out some really stupid stuff since their inception - from banning Leafs jerseys to painting a mural of them shaking hands within the Penguins outside the Penguins dressing room (during the playoffs) to Melnyk's famous 2007 "ScotiaBank Pledge" where they begged fans of other teams to drop their allegiances and cheer for the Sens in the finals. They're like the little

They're like the little brother that tries to hard to be liked by others.

I get why they are doing this, and i really dont see what the big issue is. Maybe the people complaining here are people who do the trek up to Ottawa to watch a game.

If it works, great. If it doesn't then oh well.

Before you guys rip on the Sens for this one, keep in mind that the only "news" source (and I use that description very loosely) currently reporting this is the Toronto Star which is about as credible as Rob Ford is good looking.

they shouldn't need to do this. if they had fans that supported the team by buying tickets there wouldn't be any for Leaf fans to buy. It's sad. Instead of trying to keep Leaf fans out they should be focusing on getting more home team fans in

As much as I hate Feschuk, this article was enjoyable to read. What a sad franchise.

Of course they do. Those same season-ticket holders graciously flip their tickets to Leafs fans though. Didn't you know?

They do, but then at derby games, as we call them, you could well find yourself in a world of trouble with opposing fans

Manchester Utd v Man City games have become far more heated since city got good again!

It's only football tho, rugby, hockey etc have mixed fans with no trouble

Ain't that the truth.... Melnyk is just another billionaire owner who knows sweet **** all about hockey but probably bought the team as a loss-leader for his company (he got a doozy of a tax break from the City of Ottawa when he purchased the team). He should really stick to what he knows best - screwing shareholders out of their profits and not trying to lose his ass from his impending divorce.
