Tom Wilson: 41 points in 36 games, 81 penalty minutes. The next Milan Lucic.

While we should probably slow down with the aggressive Wilson projections, those are better numbers than Lucic put up in his post-draft season.

Encouraging numbers out of Wilson, exactly the type of progression and development you want to see.

Wilson's numbers are also better than Zach Kassian's post draft year although Kassian's pre-draft numbers were far superior.

All in all, if Wilson can become a 20 goal, legit NHL power forward, it'll be a great selection. Those type of guys are hard to come by.

Do keep in mind that Plymouth is having a good season (28-16-5-4, 1st in OHL West Division), and there's hardly anybody on that roster who's not exceeding expectations. Ryan Hartman has 7 points in his past two games and is playing his way up the draft boards. 5th rounder Garrett Meurs and 2014 draft eligible Matthew Mistele both have 47 points in 53 games. Both Curcuruto and Carrick have 30+ points from the blue line. Not everyone on that roster is going to pan out, so it will be interesting to see which players are truly carrying the load and which are benefitting from a good situation.

The WHL was a low scoring league back when Lucic played. Lucic's stats in juniors mean **** when compared to Wilson.

Stats also mean ****. I watch Wilson, that's also why I highly praise this guy.

I watched some games of Wilson... On his level he looks like Ovechkin that actually plays defense. Of course, he won't be that on the bigger stage, but it's still encouraging.

WHL average scoring per game in Lucic's post draft year: 6.12
OHL average scoring per game in Wilson's post draft year: 6.67
One point in WHL then = 1.09 points in OHL.
Lucic's numbers then project to 74 points in 70 games (he actually scored 68), good for 1.06 points per game while Wilson records 1.19.

In the CSS final rankings (April 2006), Lucic is listed at 6'2", 204, Wilson in April 2012 at 6'3.5", 203.

Here is a stream for Leksand-Södertälje. Forsberg is #16, Michael Nylander is #92 and his son(!) William is #88 in Södertälje. Not great quality, second period coming up.

http://wiismo.blogspot.se/2010/07/wiismo-tv.html

Edit: Forsberg scores on the PP.

He might have picked up an assist on the 5th goal. One site is giving him credit, while another is not. Looks like he should get credit after watching the highlights. Nice play

Looking at the highlights, Forsberg depending on the rules should of gotten an assist.

It was essentially he passed it to the goal scorer, the goal scorer passed it to the whoever got the primary, and then got a pass back and scored. In the NHL, that is a secondary assist, in Sweden however I don't know.

Last time they gave an assist after few days I think. Look few pages before, they originally gave it to #6 in one of the games.

Not enough praise for the big man with hands, Jaynen Rissling. Kids got heart, size and a wonderful shot. Take a seat Alzner.

Technically it is. They very rarely correct it afterwards though, that's a shame. They keep all kinds of advanced stats like puck possession in the different zones and faceoff charts but they often get the assists wrong.
