Im sure he probably felt some mild discomfort, asked for a doctors opinion, the docs probably said its best to treat it now.
Because he finished last Monday's game suggests it is minor

Dang. Hopefully he'll be able to continue his hot hand when he comes back.
He's been quite the clutch player for us too.
Time for Kessel to bury some.

If only Lupul was coming back at the same time, i wouldn't be so worried. Sigh. Worst luck ever.

The team likely knew this would happen at some point, since it seems like routine clean up.

sucks but need to move on. No time to start crying. Pens were without Crosby and Malkin for extended periods in the past. I'm sure Frattin can be temporarily replaced.

I can't see it being major since he finished Monday's game without any issue. Sounds more like he's had some discomfort relating to his knee surgery.

Oh for the love of.....
Is anyone not injured on this team? I've never been so depressed at sitting 4th in the conference. Who's getting hurt after next game? Kessel and Kadri?
I mean ****....Lupul, Reimer, Frattin, Gunnarsson, and Gardiner.

Do you think a team unlucky enough to get these injuries will be lucky enough for them to only take the minimum amount of time to recover? Just as possible he's gone for 2+ weeks.

My suggestion:
Play McClement in his spot, play Steckel on the 4th line

I'm not worried long term but I am worried short term. There is a considerable drop in offensive talent now after the first two lines with Lupul and Frattin now out.
We need someone to play on the wing who will go to the dirty areas like Frattin does. Someone who also has the hands enough to deflect and take a pass like frattin has around the goal.

I'd rather call up Ashton. Steckel is garbage compared to McClement, McClement is the glue that holds that 4th line together.

Secretary: Hi, Dave?
Nonis: Yes?
Secretary: I have Mike Komisarek on line 1
Nonis: Patch him in
*silence, followed by click*
Komisarek: Hello sir.
Nonis: Tank commander, what is our next move?
Komisarek: You must put Kostka back on the first PP again.

This is the problem with a shortened season. With such a tight schedule small injuries look huge because of the increase in missed games. Every team pretty much has been feeling these types of scenarios.
