The cap is going down next year

O'Reilly + Barrie for Ennis and Sekera, what do Av fans think?

If Ryan O'Reilly was Russian, nobody would be interested.

I certainly am not interested in a player who isn't about anyone but himself. PK Subban, the widely criticized PK, swallowed his pride and took a massive discount to play in Montreal with his teammates.

O'Reilly is holding his team hostage, and I just don't like a player who does that. The whole character image with him is fading quickly.

I see something like Rundblad + 2nd for Turris happening here. Perhaps a 1st instead of a 2nd, and something with more NHL experience than Rundblad, because ROR has put better numbers up than Turris. In reality, though, everyone sympathized with Turris... no one really understands what's going on ROR's mind in this situation. Colorado is a great place to play, with a nice foundation of youth on that team. Not sure what he's holding out on, other than money of course.

Sekera and Ennis are not in the same deal....unless something more is coming back.

Sekera +Ennis + Adam

O'Reilly + #1

other:

Sekera +Girgenson+ Adam

O'Reilly + lower pick/prospect

So you think Sekera+Ennis+Adam could get you a top 3 pick and O'Reilly?

You really think you can get away with Gardiner playing on your top-pairing against top lines right now(or last year) and be succesful???
I really think we can get away with Gardiner playing on our top-pairing.

Lol wow.

O'Reilly isn't very bright to be sabotaging his career like this. Avs can lose just fine without him and put McKinnon in his place

Those criticizing Gardiner's defense haven't seen him play or are just trying to troll.

Well that would be odd.

Among the Leafs 2011/12 Dmen:
He was third in TOI in general behind Phaneuf/Gunnarsson.
He was third in PP TOI
He was third in PK TOI (AHEAD of Luke Schenn).

Care to share these advanced statistics?

I have seen him play enough but I don't have my blue homer glasses on
(mine are red ). And if it is true what has been posted by the Islander fan, he played the second most sheltered minutes. That would meet my observation. Crucify me for not believing in his defense right now but we will see how it turns out.
That is just my opinion...

Alright, I'm done arguing with you.

You haven't seen him play nearly enough apparently, but that doesn't matter.

Thank you. I mean the way you are describing him, he is a god offensively and rock solid on D. Leafs should never ever trade him for anything.
So he will easily slide into the top pairing and lead the Leafs to the Cup when he ends his little conditioning stint...
Yowza.
I like the guy but not one of you is ever allowed to call ROR overrated once again....
His defensive game is not up to par with his offense right now...

if gardiner is offered for ROR, avs should take it
a highly touted skilled D is what they need

Honestly what are you even saying? When has anyone other than yourself implied something so ridiculous.

VERY interesting, but I think Randy/Wilson chose the wrong guy to hide. Schenn/Liles/Komisarek were better candidates.

And that is exactly what Toronto needs as well. Gardiner is not being traded.

Edit: To refresh fellow Leafs who have memories like gold fishes as soon as they think Leafs can make a trade for some one. Probably the same fans who wanted to trade Kadri last season.

Well you are calling me out for not being completely sold on his defensive play. And I really am not. I am sold on his offensive capabilities. So if you think I am wrong and don't know what I am talking about, Gardiner is a surefire top pairing defender right now...

And that in my mind is rather overrating him. And after reading a ton of posts about ROR being overrated I felt to take a shot .
