Oh yes, that one. Thanks.

I think he's reliable guy but that seems like speculation. Obviously there's lot of wrong with wrestling so it could be true.

So why do they still prohibit pro boxers from competing?

Rugby actually used to be in it.

USA were the last to win.

Wrestling is very little audience and TV-friendly sport to me. Don't mind one bit if they get rid of that. But, so are other sports as well.

why shouldn't rugby be in?

Honestly they should get rid of soccer, at least men's soccer.

Don't think it's really fair to get rid of the less popular sports, which usually are the ones where the Olympic Gold medal is the highest achievement in the sport. I see absolutely no reason for Golf to be in the Olympics.

7s rugby will be in the next 2016 Olympics. It's played with 7 man teams instead of the traditional 15. More high scoring, faster paced, shorter games (two 7 min halfs as opposed to two 40 min halfs) then the 15s game. Probably doing this to introduce North Americans to the game and pave the way for 15s which is awesome. Though 7s might as well be a completely different game then 15s so I don't like it in that respect.

I'm not saying soccer should be taken out because that would be kind of weird but is there any other Olympic sport where winning the Gold Medal isn't the biggest accomplishment you can achieve in your sport while representing your country?

probably not...but then again, there are sports that the highest national team achievement is to receive an olympic medal, yet most fans of that sport might not even care that much or at all about that compared to club leagues etc...as was the case for baseball and probably is for basketball...seriously did any die hard MLB fans even follow the USA at the olympics for baseball lols and even when the USA takes a full star team like they do for basketball, I'm sure most basketball fans think NBA>Olympics...

Most basketball fans in the USA probably do, but that's about it.

Very few people in Spain, Russia, Turkey, Greece, Lithuania and elsewhere except NA watch NBA or follow it. I think even more watch Euroleague instead. Olympic tournament draws much more interest, gathering people who don't care about basketball in other cases.

Tennis. They gain the same amount of points for the rankings for winning a gold medal as they do at one of the lowest level tournaments.

My problem with Soccer in the Olympics isn't that the Olympics is secondary to the World Cup, it's that it has this whole you can only have players under 23 except for three guys or whatever the rules are. The Olympics should be the best of the best, not the best under a certain age except for three guys who can be any age.

I understand your point dude, but it's like as if Korean archery fans or Chinese ping pong fans didn't give a crap about the Olympics and the rest of the world did....oooookay, go ahead keep caring meaningless...

people can say what they want about soccer, at least there's different winners etc..

but archery and ping pong are a joke in the olympics

Personally think it should only be for Sports where it'd be the highest level.

I'd say it is only Basketball fans in Europe who might feel otherwise, and that is a very small slice of the pie.
