Lashoff was really good for us this season. Can still develop in solid bottom pair defenseman.

I really hope the wings do not go out and trade for Iginla. We already have enough oldies, not that Iginla isn't a good player, I just don't think he fits into the wings "Retool" year. Now if Iginla is a UFA come July 5th then we should be in the hunt but I hope we don't give up any assets for him.

The only way we should trade any prospects is for a youngish high upside player or a good defensive dman with ok puck moving ability.

anyway... would this be enough? too much? too little?

to Detroit:

to Calgary:

Lashoff (or other D prospect)
1st round pick
Value is ok, but I think the Flames would prefer a prospect over Filppula, just because we would effectively be rebuilding at that point.

I don't think either team would want to make a trade involving Iginla. The constant muttering of "we need to get rid of Iginla while he still has value" doesn't make sense when he does, in fact, have a lot of value left. Especially to a team that built its franchise around him. Iginla is a once-in-a-lifetime player for a team. It's unfortunate he has yet to win the big one for Calgary but that doesn't mean he's trade bait. The Flames definitely need to consider a rebuilding but Iginla still has lots left to give to the team.
