Fleury gonna Fleury. 2 soft goals fast to put his team down 2-1 in 24 seconds.

Devs get Ponikarovsky from the Jets for a '13 7th and '14 4th.

NJ leading the conference and their GM making smart moves to build depth.

Oh, to have a great GM.

Because the Jets would of traded with us?

Absolute garbage penalty call against the Senators helps the Penguins tie the game. Oh yeah, inb4 main board topic on Crosbys 400th assist.

What? No. Not even a relevant question.

Because Zubrus got hurt and Lou acted. The point is, great GMs find ways to improve a team and lesser GMs don't.

Cooke just slew footed Karlsson into the boards.

Let me guess: the refs didn't call it.

As if we were running out of reasons to dislike the Penguins.

People would have called the move a panic trade and/or dumpster diving. They also would have chided him for not having the depth to withstand an injury in the first place.

It's hard to say whether that was intentional...it doesn't even look like much, but the way his leg came up was a little strange.

painful but true. nevertheless, Makfi wouldn't act that decisively, so no worries there.

Hate Cooke, but that doesn't look intentional to me.

Doesn't look intentional, but also doesn't look normal. Looks like the behavior of a pest in the NHL, but no intent to injure, just agitate.

Also watching Detroit and St. Louis. Less than 2 minutes to go in a tied game and there are a ton of empty seats. Thought they were a hockeytown

Post from the main board... He was reckless, he went for a slew foot, ended up causing a major injury in another way.

If there's any player who doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt, it's Cooke.

Very unfortunate for Karlsson. I hope he recovers and hate to see someone in pain like that. Selanne recovered from an injury back in during the 95 shortened season. Hopefully Karlsson can recover and have the career Selanne has had.

That standard has a lot of implications for Ovechkin that I'm sure you'd love.

I've twice almost posted some old man bitterness along the Karlsson news lines but I think I won't.

According Garrioch, he thinks it will take 4-6 months, so in all likelihood, no more Karlsson for this season period. If the Sens make the playoffs it would be a miracle.

Extremely beneficial to the Caps...

It looks reckless but not intentional, but then you have to think whats the odds that the offender just happens to be Cooke and the guy getting injured just happens to be Erik Karlsson.

Coincidence ? I think not.

The question is whether its like "what are the odds Matt Cooke lacerated Karlson's Achilles tonight" or "if there was a lacerated Achilles tonight of course it was Cooke stomping on Karlson's."

It was obviously intentional. That's what Cooke does, he's a reckless player. That's why he got kicked out of Washington.

Incorrect. The Caps didn't have the cap room to keep him even if they wanted to.
