Fleury should be the backup. Hope that answers who I voted for.

Vokoun.
Hedberg might have been amazing in the 3 games he played this year, but that does not change the fact that he is a class below Vokoun.

And @Vainkiller
No Fleury should not be the backup. He is playing very good so far this season and easily better then Vokoun

Hedberg just because of his nickname "MOOSE"

Vokoun for me, he could be a starter on a decent amount of teams

Vokoun AINEC. In the past 5 years, he's statistically been one of the best goalies in the league.

Vokoun has been a starter for the last 8 seasons before this one, and still could be a starter if he didn't sign with Pittsburgh.

And yet last year he had to take a one year audition, at a backup salary, on a team desperate for goaltending, only to follow it up by having to take an even greater pay cut, and actually be the backup. So much for all you stat junkies; the guys who get paid to make hockey related decisions clearly don't agree with you. Vokoun is not one of the top goalies in hockey, not even close, regardless of what the "stats" say.

Vokoun, that's a easy choice.

Or maybe he wants to win the cup before retiring.
Hence the cheap contracts with good teams.

I actually suggested Hedberg - as an outsider - as the backup for Sweden a while ago. He is decent and got routine. I think he would fill the shoes of anyone without feeling the pressure all to much, at least less than many other NHL goalies.

seriously

he didn't even try to go to UFA this time around, signing with the team his rights got traded to a full month before free agency even started

those aren't the actions of someone that "has to take an even greater pay cut,and actually be the backup"

The "guys who get paid to make hockey related decisions" had zero input on this. Vokoun's rights were traded and he signed almost immediately. For a guy who is 36 (turning 37) and doesn't have a cup, you won't find a better chance than a very, very good Penguins team who only bowed out last year because they got the 6th worst playoff goaltending performance ever. In the history of the league.

Very happy with the acquisition of Vokoun in the off season. Finally someone to challenge MAF a little bit

Moose may be my favourite goaltender in the NHL, but it's Vokoun.
