Lokitonov traded to the Devils for a 5th round pick.

Now that's good use of a 5th round pick - would rather take a risk like this than acquire P3L.

Roster talk about Canada's 2014 Olympic team has already begun. Here's Ray Ferraro's attempt at a potential team.

Not only does he have a lot of questionable choices there - Fleury over Luongo, Seguin, J.Staal, M. Staal, Girardi as an offensive weapon, Coburn, to name a few, he also seems to have completely ignored how Yzerman built the 2010 gold medal team. Yzerman placed a heavy emphasis on chemistry, so we'll likely see a lot of pairs brought in again. Like St.Louis-Stamkos, Marleau-Thornton, Seabrook-Keith, etc.

And it seems almost no one expects Iginla to make it. I think it's a toss up personally - the various federations want to increase the roster from 23 to 25, Iginla does have the experience of being there and winning, and we know that Crosby and Iginla have chemistry together. On the other hand, the games will be on bigger ice, Iginla will be 36 closing in 37, he likely won't have a strong start that could push him over the edge, and I don't believe Babcock's all that fond of him. Although it's still up in the air whether or not Babcock returns as head coach. It could be Hitchcock.

Lastly, if Bouwmeester can keep playing like he is under Hartley, he should definitely be under consideration as well.

It all depends, IMO on if they need the extra experience and leadership. I hope he makes it, that would be great, but he really needs to pick it up here and start scoring

I really wish we would of had a spot in the organization to acquire him. This kid is, and has been NHL ready for a couple of seasons now. He's basically another Backlund. You are right, that would of been excellent use of a 5th round pick.

Toronto scores 2 goals in 28 seconds to take a 3-1 lead against the Flyers. Frattin and Kadri have looked great this year really shows that taking your time developing prospects pays off.

Karlsson leaves Ottawa game early, looks to a cut.

It's a laceration to his Achilles tendon, but the severity isn't known yet. If it's just a cut, it might not be so bad. If it's severed, could be a devastating blow both to the Senators and Karlsson's career.

Awful injury though. Karlsson's an incredible player and was terrific to watch the last couple of seasons. Hope it doesn't affect his abilities down the road.

I agree, apparently out of the rest of this season. Don't believe Cooke did it on purpose.

Yeah, Cooke isn't the type of player that deserves the benefit of doubt, but it didn't look intentional. Terrible luck for the Senators and Karlsson.

With the way Anderson has been playing, there's no way the Sens finish in the bottom 5, even without Spezza for a while and potentially Karlsson for the year.

Canucks dive several times late in the 3rd and end up tying it only to lose in the shoot out.

Not too many people change who they are. Look at the rate of repeat offenders. And while I cannot accuse Cooke of intentionally hurting Karlsson, the man has a history of head hunting. For that reason I can understand why people believe he is who he has been; a person who can't defend better players and control that anger so instead will attack them without any regard for the decency of the game.

We've all played against guys like these. A born bully who doesn't want to play hockey and have fun, they just want to body check, fight and hurt people. Guys who elbow you and smirk rarely reform

This.

If he makes the team it will be because he is going to be the Captain. Thats the element that he brings to that team that I don't see anyone else being able to do.
