Yeah he looks like he was in a lot of pain. Doesn't look like Cooke did it intentionally...
I really doubt it was intentional (and therefore I'm not going on main boards since it was done by Cooke; just like the Zac/Vinny BS) but man, that was scary.

Sucks for the Avs. I really think there needs to be a rule where play is stopped if the puck goes off any of the refs.

Gord Miller @GMillerTSN
Word is Karlsson has a cut to his lower leg and will not return. Sens management doesn't like the play by Cooke.

Yeah I hate Cooke but that just looked like a routine play that went wrong. Hope it doesn't keep him out for too long.

Guess he'll be out for a while...that blows. He's probably their most important player.

Worst possible news for Senators. Karlsson suffered lacerated Achilles tendon. Surgery required.
Huge blow for the Sens.

That's probably his season.

If it's a torn Achilles, the focus should be on making sure he's ready for next season.

Looks like it will be 4-6 month recovery period depending on his severity of the injury.

This time next year the injury will probably be fully healed.

Man what a bad injury for him to get.

Apparently Cooke got a 10min misconduct.

EDIT: Wasn't for the Karlsson thing. Him and Neil went at it and then they threw him out.

It was an incredibly reckless play by Cooke. Why lift your skate?

Also, the puck went out of play 12 seconds before the injury and the refs didn't call it. That's terrible.

For some reason, those links that start with "media" don't work with the IMG codes; same with Philly Inq.

So this has got to be a suspension, right? Given past history, one would hope it's extensive.

So intentionally or unintentionally how many seasons has Cooke ended now?

I would think so...although Shanny is pretty inconsistent. Like with the Lucic-Miller thing.

Why do you say that? Obviously, none of us are Cooke's biggest fans, but that looked accidental to me.

I think it looked very intentional. Lifts his leg for what conceivable purpose, takes it down right on the back of his leg...just happens to be the team's best player?

If that had happened to Crosby, Mario would be calling for fines, suspensions, and duller blades.
