Nothing to do with being from Ottawa. If this happened to any of our players, this board would be broken.
It's happened many times before and was accidental those times also...including Price injuring Markov(different location but similar).

But yeah, we need someone like him I admit it.
People complain that we need a heavyweight well Neil is another middleweight like White Prust and Moen.

You don't know who Chris Neil is, do you ?

The injury to Karlsson is unfortunate, but there's no intent.

I still don't know why players don't always wear these cut resistant socks that have Kevlar in them to prevent this sort of thing from happening..

Neil can throw them with anyone and yeah Prust fought him twice and Prust looked like a big big big punching bag.

Awful rigidity... It's not comfortable for starters(Same thing with damn neck guards..) and it takes away some performance...

It should be the Hockey socks that are made of kevlar or something...

Then you know he's better than Moen, Prust, or White.

Guy took on Chara and a bunch of other tough customers. He's not afraid of anyone.

They don't look to be rigid and uncomfortable. This product looks like a regular sock to me.. http://www.hoganhockey.com/products/38

This reminds me of when Pens fans blamed Subban for intentionally injuring Staal. I know it's Cooke but that clearly wasn't intentional.

Sucks for Karlsson, we know what it's like to lose your best defenseman after they are cut by a skate after all.

That sucks for Karlsson. I'm not a fan of him but I hate it when classy hockey players get injured.

They don't look like it but they are totally uncomfortable.

I got some want them?

And another is that I don't think it's really effective... I'm not going to try it but I can't see this thing really stopping a sharp skate blade coming fast at your ankles...

Wow you'd think after the bad luck Markov had people players would be protecting their heels/ankles more. Tough loss for Senators , hopefully they can work together and overcome the loss.

That's all that needs to be said...

Savard - Markov - Karlsson + a boatload of suspensions, probably other injuries caused and some questionable hits

Don't know if it was intentional, I don't think so. But players shouldn't lift their legs while going for a hit. It's just stupid and they should very well know they have a sharp object under on their feet.

I know Cooke doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt but it looked like he lost balance there to me.

Even though it's Matt Cooke I'm not sure that was a good thing for Murray to say. Pretty much saying it was intentional because Cooke did it.
