Why are the Leafs selling 13 games into the season sitting in 5th place?

The most galling thing of all is that the equipment that was on Karlsson is still soaking wet from the game , and already an Oil fan is up trying to hawk this enigma onto the grieving sens fans.

Pawn off a lousy contract and bad situation ............and not even for free either. They want PAYMENT for the guy.

Really? I mean, I'm not a Sens fan, and I believe they are deep without belief. Looking at their young players that could be here for years to come:

Spezza
Michalek (ok three at the high end of twenties here)
Methot

Lehner
Cowen
Karlsson
Zibanejad
Silfverbeg
Turris
Smith
Ceci
Wiercioch
Puempel
Noesen
Prince
Stone

etc...

That's deep. Not counting current players that could grab some more attention like Anderson, which traded could get a large return, Gonchar pending UFA ...

Ryan Whitney is a NHL player. I googled it to confirm and it checks out.

Scratching him has probably saved whatever value he has left (if he has any at all)

The more he plays, the more people see how bad he is

Whitney is just as hobbled as Karlsson at the moment. It's just not 'official.'

Ottawa declines with extreme prejudice.

I think if the sens are still in playoff contention they will consider a move such as this but not from the Leafs.

Besides, I dont think the Leafs D is deep enough to start trading .

Leafs say no. We also have our injury problems going on right now. Liles also has a NTC.

Can you imagine OTT now tanks and gets Seth Jones. They will have Zibanejad, Spezza, and Turris down the middle with Karlsson, Cowen, Jones and Ceci on the point.

Major Buzz kill for a Leaf fan.

Well, the main reason it was closed was because, at the time, it was only known that Karlsson was cut, not how bad or anything like that, hence it was a panic thread. Now that he's confirmed to be out long-term, I'll allow the thread.

Nothing will make up for the loss, maybe a Whitney will be decent enough to sneak the team into the playoffs. They still have a great goalie, and Spezza is back soon.
Corey ****ing Potter is ahead of Whitney on the Oilers' depth chart right now. That should tell you everything you need to know about his play this season. Maybe his foot problems did him in, maybe he's simply not in game shape after the lock-out, or maybe he's just a whining crybaby, but either way he's done as an Oiler and maybe as an NHLer too.

You guys are in for a major disappointment. Nobody can out tank Steve Tambellini . The Sens have no chance.

If Anderson goes down, we're all but guaranteed #1 overall. At this rate, it's only a matter of time too...

The chances of the Sens shipping out Alfie OR Neil, not to mention the two of them in the same deal, are minuscule. Then you offer us an impending UFA, a guy who would be 15th in scoring on our AHL team and who looks to have no real NHL future, a pick that will in all likelihood be after 25th overall, and a cap dump on a team that is trying to save money.

Consider this all.

Spezza, Kadri, Bozak

Would be a solid 1, 2, 3

One can dream:

Lupul-Spezza-Kessel
JvR-Kadri-Perry
Kulemin-Bozak-Frattin
Komarov-Mcclement-McClaren/Brown

We would be asking for Kadri +, you think your getting Spezza for nothing. Typical Leaf homer

I wouldn't trade Tanev for anything realistic right now. Acquiring a rental player without taking off our roster would be ideal. 2nd round pick + any prospect not named Jensen/Corrado I would strongly consider.

I wish, oh wow do I wish...

I'm pretty big on Neil though, I'd love to have him on the Canucks and yes I'd love to see Alfredson play with the twins.

I'd be willing to pay anything reasonable for those two

Not the way it will work.

If Alfie wants to win a Stanley Cup, we trade him to the team where he wants to go.
