Ideally, Hagelin. More like a Utopian idea but thats what I'd open negotions with. I would think a top prospect or useful young player need to be included.

There will be a market for Gonchar. What would the Rangers offer?

I think that's more than fair. I think if we trade Alfie, it's only going to be to a team like Vancouver, Chicago, Detroit etc... Alfie isn't the type of player we try to "cash on". If we do trade him it's going to be for his benefit, not ours.

A 2nd would be fair, anything more is gravy IMO.

I'd be willing to pay anything reasonable for those two
Neil isn't going to be moved. With Spezza and Karlsson we are a playoff team; Neil is a guy we'd like to keep for next season and years to come.

LOL, it's Alfie's decision. There is really no trade-off here. He goes where he wants to go.

Honestly, I never expected him to become available, I'm just expressing how much I'd love to take him, I don't think you trade someone like him and if you can get him, you do. idk I've been envious that the sens have him for some time.

If we trade Alfie, it won't be to cash in on a rental; if we move him it will be to a Stanley Cup contender, in an attempt to get him a cup before he retires.

Of course this is all dependent on whether he wants to go for the cup or not. This whole discussion could be pointless if he wants to remain a life-time Senator.

Hagelin +? I know there is gonna be a market for him, but he would be on our 3rd pairing behind Mcdonagh, Girardi, Staal and Del Zotto, just dont think giving up Hags is worth it.

I think to many teams he is worth their first round pick to rent him. If he re signs (which i doubt) then add , but odds are heavy he returns to Ottawa.

But in Vancouver you dont just 'stick' anyone with the Sedins per se. It has worked but sometimes it has not and we have Burrows to play with Sedins quite nicely.

Kassian if the twins need protecting.

So we cant really fit the guy on our roster and buy into our system fast enough. Its a no go.

What about Chris Phillips ? What would be required to obtain him ? If he'd be willing to waive off his no trade clause.

Sens could use Yannick Weber... or if you really want to finish low, Kaberle .

Of course not Weber alone, so what would be the cost ?

I'd be interested in Eller, Emelin or Tinordi; although I understand why the Habs wouldnt trade any of those guys for him. I don't think I'd trade Phillips for a 2nd.

Well Eller could be discussed, but Tinordi and Emelin can't be included there.

Habs have 3 second rounders this year so we can afford giving one...

Maybe Eller + 2nd round (Predators) for Chris Phillips and Zack Smith ?

We can throw in Weber too at this point...

Might be overevaluating somewhere though...

Not trading Smith. I'd probably do Phillips for Eller.

You say he will cost a premium, yet agree he will go for whatever the team he wants to go to is willing to give up.

Impeccable logic.

Why would anyone want Phillips? This guy has gone from being one of the top defensive defensemen to a pylon. He's that bad, but I guess he'd look good on the third pair though.

I 100% believe the Sens are buyers right now, not sellers.

They're not gonna pack it in, that's a fan's mentality. Murray and co. will try to grab a couple of stop-gaps. Someone like Cogliano as an example, or Whitney out of Edmonton, guys who might need a change of scenery and come relatively cheap.

No way Bryan Murray tosses his hands up and waves the white flag, there'll be moves made (IMO).

Yeah I figured I was overevaluating or underevaluating somewhere ... I didn't know much of Zack Smith's value.

Problem is that Habs have way too many defensemen (8) there so if we move a forward for a defenseman, it would be good to receive a forward that can play and send out a defenseman too.

Initially I was looking for a winger to score some good goals with Galchenyuk and Gallagher. In front of the net for example...

In that sense, Eller + Weber + 2nd round pick could get us Phillips + which winger ?

To Vancouver:

Daniel Alferdson

To Ottawa:

Mason Raymond
2nd Round Pick (1st if they make it to SCF)

If you don't want Raymond take Booth and remove SCF condition.

Way I see it its a fair trade Ottawa get young speed who can produce (when he wants to) and a possible 1st. Canucks get a veteran leader who could help them over an emotional cliff. Alfie would take it because it helps the Sens. Thats the only way he gets traded for return.

As for these stupid Spezza offers, anyone trolling give your head a shake. The day Alfie leaves he becomes Captain. So Ottawa will not even consider trading Spezza. Not to mention you cant trade players on the IR.

IMO Alfie stays. He stipulated this summer that he would like to win the Cup WITH the Sens only. As for packing it in, I would quietly be a seller and be patient, as this coming draft is supposedly exceptionnaly deep with 2nd picks being of the same quality of first rounders of other draft years. Tough break for the Sens with their two best players out, but the future is looking good.

Would love Alfredsson on the Canucks.

Absolutely no idea of the value... I don't like the idea of trading a 1st this year... but a 2014 1st or a 2nd and a 3rd this year maybe.

Alfredsson also plays the RW which is a perfect fit for the Nucks. Can rotate with the Sedins, or Kesler + someone.

I doubt Alfredsson is moved, but I'd love to have him on the Sharks for a playoff run. He'd look great with Couture and Havlat or with Thornton and Pavelski.

Touché. But his righty shot would be absolutely perfect for Thornton.

I would love to be able to watch Alfie play with Havlat and it might be nice for him to get a working-vacation in Cali.
