Sam Povorozniouk -Kingston -OHL

I like this kid as another sleeper who gets little buzz. I loved him when he was with CYA as well as the Chicago Steel. Now the kid got traded to Kingston late last year and finally seems to be getting more opportunities. His stats arent going to wow you, but he is a hard working kid that seems to be blooming at the right time. I can see a team taking a chance on him somewhere in the early mid rounds as he is just starting to show what he is capable of.

Brock and some of you other OHL followers, where do you guys see Sam getting drafted at??

Wow, I drafted this guy in NHL 13 and always thought he was a randomly generated player.

He was on a like with Ryan Kujawinski and Henri Ikonen at one point, and that line was on a bit of a roll. The line seemed to work well because it had your classic playmaker (Povorosniouk), scorer (Kujawinski), and board work cycle specialist (Ikonen).

But the lines have since been juggled with the return of Watson and Bennett from the U17s, and with Jenkins' return from injury, not to mention Kingston just recently ending a horrendous 11-game losing streak. So he, along with the rest of the team, haven't looked all that special these past dozen games.

Overall, from what I've seen from him, I'd say he's more playmaker than scorer who has pretty good vision, a pretty good stickhandler, and has shown some nice moves in the shootout. Not sure he's got much NHL potential, but I think he's got the kind of tools to put up ~20 goals and ~40 assists at the junior level.

I'd agree.

From what I've seen of him, I don't think I'd use a draft pick on him at this point.

He's not the biggest guy in the world and I'm not convinced that his offensive capabilities are good enough to play a top 6 role in the NHL. Nor am I convinced that he's capable of developing the rest of his game to become a quality bottom 6 guy. Looks to me like your classic tweener.

I think he has potential to become a very solid OHL player, so I'd track his progress and consider him in the future if he can improve his game.
