Okposo on #2, and Ullstrom to 4th makes no sense (except to our clueless coach !!)

And the pairing of Hickey and Streit could be deadly !!!

Pissed about Ullstrom being demoted. He's a solid hockey player and a steady 3rd liner on most teams.

Reasoner, Hickey and Ullstrom will be tonight's healthy scratches for the #Isles

Holy ****... That's it for me. I've been on the fence about wanting a new coach but this pushes me over. Ullstrom is exactly who you want in the lineup tonight. He's a fan favorite because he WORKS HIS ASS OFF.

I'm done. Fire Cap.

So...Finley and Boulton are playing in favor of Hickey and Ullstrom? Give me a ******* break! Hickey and Ullstrom have both been playing well and working their ***** off so he scratches them for players that will make us roll 5 d and 11 forwards. Anyone who has defended Capuano's coaching decisions, should be changing their opinions right about now.

Unless he is hurt, benching Ullstrom makes no sense, he has earned his spot at both ends of the ice. I am not surprised that Hickey is benched, he looks overmatched and is a scary pairing with the equally defensively challenged Streit. Never thought i would be missing Carkner, time for Donovan? So assume this means Finley and Boulton in the lineup ? I'd rather we skate our way out of this slide than fight it out...

on a side note, not sure how much you can tell on tv but at the games Hamonic seems to be having lots of ankle issues which become obvious when you see him limping off the ice and favoring it at the end of shifts. Kid is a gamer and has been gutting in out but wonder if he will need to sit down at some point to rest it.

It was time for Capuano to go last year, but the Isles are so cheap it's absurd. I can't believe Ullstrom is scratched tn, unreal.

Not saying I want Finley in there but Hickey has been pretty bad in his own end, and has gotten caught deep too many times in the offensive zone(cost us the Winnipeg game and a late goal vs NJ)... He looks overmatched to me (but what do i know)..We basically have only 5 healthy NHL defensemen and two are purely offensive specialists. I don't think that Hickey is a good pairing with either Lubo or Streit since he can't really cover for them defensively. I would really like to see Donovan get a shot now.

To be fair, I think the Winnipeg goal was more Aucoin's fault for making a very low percentage pass in that situation.

fair point, we can debate it and maybe there is more blame to go around. Aucoin's was not the best of passes(he fanned on it the first time) but I would not call it a low percentage play since he was putting it towards the net from the right offensive faceoff circle on an even man rush, not a cross ice pass at the top of the blueline. The odd man rush was caused because Hickey went straight to the net when they entered the zone(along with the JT), thinking only offense in an even strength position and thus got caught out of position. Mybe it was more understandable because it was OT but my point was that this is a trend with him rather than a one time thing. IMHO, his offense first style, is not a good match with Lubo or Streit. On the defensive side he needs to make better decisions in his own zone especially since he is on the smallish side. I would prefer to see him go to the AHL and see if he can improve on some of these things before he gets a full time role here. There seems to be a reason why he has not been able to get to this level prior and he still seems to need to learn how to play the position better.

You've gotta be kidding me! I really "hope" that he is minorly injured, has the flu or whatever, because if not, this really is a joke. Flipping a coin would lead to better decisions than this! I'm not saying that Ullstrom is the savior of Isle's world, but he definitely is one of the better players, especially considering his ridiculous low amount of ice time. And at least he shows some energy and efficiency. This really is like in school where the teacher always favors his/her pets and then is astounded why everybody else in the class hates him/her or doesn't give a ...

I'm sure Finley is in because of Boyle playing tonight. No way Hickey 5'10", {ya right} could handle the 6'7" Boyle.

Umm..

Guys, this was a scratch based not on talent or who wasnt or was giving a good effort, but rather Cappy's style to raise the troops.

Come on people. Ullstrom and Hickey did NOTHING to be rewarded with a scratch. The simple fact is that we are playing against the Rangers and we are on a losing streak.

I GUARANTEE you Finley and Boulton is there JUST to fight. Both guys will see no more than 5 or 6 min in total play time.

This is only a "rally the troops" scratch and nothing else.

Biron is 13-0-1 versus the Isles in his last span of starts.

Finley will cost us a goal if not two. I can't believe he is even on the team still.

I said it in the Capuano must go topic, there really seems to be no logic in his moves. Ullstrom busts it out there. He's got great speed and gets in there on the forecheck. So we get staged fights from Boulton and Asham, and maybe Finley and Bickel? Asinine.

Finley playing is a joke. Hickey should be in. As pointed out the Winnipeg goal was Aucoin's fault not Hickey's. That was an awful decision to pass in that situation.

This team can not afford to dress two players who will only play 5 or 6 minutes. Playing with 5 defensemen for 3 periods is asking to lose.
