Miller fills in a bit hole too. Our 3rd line center hole.

There's a difference between filling a hole, and filling it effectively. Miller did not do that last night. If he cannot find that extra gear, it's better to let him work his way back up from the Whale. That's how you develop prospects properly.

Del Zotto was indeed sent down and so was Ryan Callahan. Sauer didn't even a cup of coffee in the NHL until his 3rd pro year.

obviously Miller will be more effective against bottom teams like the islanders who lack depth and less effective against top teams like Boston who can roll four effective lines. I'd like to see him stick but won't be mad if he's sent down after Thursdays game.

Yeah I forgot DZ got sent down, but it was not in his rookie season.

I'm well aware. Note how you needed a history textbook to pull up those names though.

Can a mod rename this thread Kreider-Miller-Callahan? It's really bothering me reading it the way it is

Not for the names but for the numbers.
What is your point anyway ?
My point was that there are some Ranger greats that also scored 40 and should be mentioned.

Well my original post was obviously poking fun at our teams offensive ineptitude this past decade.

Should have made that more clear. My bad. Sorry, I'm young. I don't know what to do with myself sometimes when we score more than 3 goals in a game.

It could be worse for you, you could be old and used to great teams being beaten by insane franchise monsters !
That i hated and still do.

Well, you can forget about this line with Kreider scratched tonight and everyone's favorite first line center Boyle back in the lineup...Hallelujah!!!

Un****ing real. Just unreal. You take out Kreider for Boyle. Back to being a talentless hockey team that grinds their way to 2-1 wins. Yes that's an exaggeration, but Brian Boyle should not be a top 9 player on a good team. Bottom line. I have lost a lot of respect for Torts. Seriously, guys like Boyle are everything that was wrong with last year's team.

At least someone here sees the light! Boyle doesn't belong anywhere NEAR the top-9, and I would argue even the 4th line is better off without him...this is a ******* AWFUL move, Torts is an idiot...can't wait to see Boyle "shutdown" (as all of his lovers on this board like to say) Tavares tonight...so much for the winning streak...

Boyle will have 10 blocks tonight, because that's all he can do as Tavares skates circles around him as he's pinned in the defensive zone.

You really think Kreider has been good the last couple games? I don't. Give the kid a night off to watch and get his **** together. It's not the end of the world. Not sure why you're over-reacting. Swapping CK for Boyle for one game isn't going to have that much impact.

Uhh if it ruins our winning streak then it can have a HUGE impact; this team's psyche is so fragile...

The problem is that he looks 100 times better in the NHL than the AHL. Kenny G just doesn't get the most out of young guys. Even Kreider looks better in the NHL, though still not great. We need a better coach down there.

Feel bad for kreider. he has played better defense lately and yet JT Miller who made so many mistakes last game stays on and boyle comes in for CK. I feel Torts is wasting Kreider's talent since he has showed a lot playing with richards/stepan
